Celebrate Earth Day by participating in a local recycling drive. Recycle the packaging, paper, and old electronics you no longer need for free from 3:00-6:00pm on Wednesday, April 22 at 1384 N. Brown Street.



Accepted items: (MUST BE CLEAN and ORGANIZED)



· Glass
· Styrofoam
· Batteries
· Electronics (televisions, cell phones, laptops, computers, keyboards, mice)
· Cardboard
· Office paper
· Clean plastic food/beverage containers
· Small appliances
· Latex paint – liquid in a good can please. We cannot accept stains, varnish or oil paint, or latex paint with additives like DryLoc paint.

We will be accepting latex paint again this year at $2 per gallon. Collection will start April 4 and end in October.



Paint must be in a good container; must be liquid; must be latex paint.



See the list for materials we do not accept.



The not accepted paint material would be accepted at the county Household Hazardous Waste events held by the Jackson Conservation District. The dry lock paint/drywall mud can be dried out and put in the trash .

We sort through paint when you arrive and will leave the material we
cannot accept in your vehicle.

There’s a possibility of thunderstorms tomorrow morning. During a thunderstorm we will close the gate for the safety, and stop operations until the storm has passed. If it is just rain, we will continue to work. This is for your safety and for ours.

A reminder we are not collecting paint until spring. We only collect in warm months. Do not bring it tomorrow.

A very special thank you to our partners at Gerdau Special Steel. They sponsored a free paint and electronics collection event on October 21 at Recycling Jackson

Over 7,100 pounds of latex paint and 16,100 pounds of unwanted electronics were collected at the event and will now be recycled.

Thank you, Thank You, Thank You to Gerdau for your support of recycling in our community.

Saturday, November 1 is the last day for paint collection this year at Recycling Jackson. We will start collection again next year in March or April.

A very special thank you to our friends at Germaine specialty steel products for their support with the reason Electronics and Paint collection event at Recycling Jackson. We collected approximately 12;000 pounds of Electronics and 1300 gallons of paint. This material will all now be recycled instead of thrown in the trash.
