Join members of the Ithaca Baseball and Ithaca High School Baseball teams to Try Baseball this spring! There will be DRILLS, DEMOS, PIZZA AND FUN!

Kids will learn:
* Some baseball basics
* Why playing baseball is AWESOME
* What it's like to be a baseball player

Families will learn:
* The variety of baseball offerings in Ithaca and how to choose the best option for their child.
* Ithaca Cal Ripken and Ithaca Youth Bureau programs will be on-hand to learn about registration information and deadlines.

How to participate:

* Open to current 1st - 6th graders

Ithaca Baseball is now recruiting umpires for the 2026 season!

Our youth umpiring program gives participants the chance to build valuable skills—such as communication, leadership, and quick decision-making—while earning some extra cash.

Umpires must be 13 or older and have a basic understanding of baseball rules. No experience is necessary—all umpires receive training.

Sign-ups for our spring Cal Ripken baseball program are open (deadline: March 20)!

Our spring Cal Ripken program will consist of a Minors (10U) division (born between 5/12015 & 4/30/2017) and a Majors (12U) division (born between 5/1/2013 & 4/30/2015).

The season will begin around April 1, with a playoffs tentatively scheduled during the first weekend of June.

We have flexible fee schedule to meet the needs of both the program and our families. We are requesting a minimum registration fee of $185. If you feel that your family can afford to pay slightly more, we would appreciate it if you would consider paying $200. If your situation allows, $250 is the standard fee across many local youth baseball leagues. We will also continue to offer the opportunity for families to make additional donations during the registration process.

Lastly, we will be holding indoor winter workouts at the Community Recreation Center in Lansing on Sundays in late February and early March. Sessions will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM, with 10U players from 5:00-6:30 PM and 12U players from 6:30–8:00 PM. The sessions will focus on developmental drills to help players build confidence and improve their baseball skills for the future. Please select the sessions your player is able to attend within the registration form. More details will be shared prior to the start of the sessions.

The Ithaca Cal Ripken & Babe Ruth baseball programs will offer Fall baseball! The season will start in the second half of August and play through the middle of October, with teams playing locally against neighboring programs. We plan to offer teams playing at the following ages, based on current-year (2025) player ages:

Minors (10U)
Majors (12U)
Babe Ruth (15U)

** Experienced 10 year-old players may request to join the Majors (12U) program. Current 12 year-old players (born 5/1/2012 to 4/30/2013) are eligible to register for Majors, Babe Ruth, or both divisions. For the Babe Ruth (15U) program, players need to be born on 5/1/2009 or later. **

Practice and game schedules are TBD but generally are focused on weekends. Players from any location are welcome to participate.

The TC Arsenal Baseball Program will hold tryouts for its 2026 teams on August 5, 2025 at Gutchess Sports Complex in Cortland. TC Arsenal travel teams play around central NY including home games in Ithaca and Cortland and attend 4-5 tournaments per year. Starting at the 13U age level, our teams have paid coaches with collegiate baseball experience. These tryouts will be open to players aged 9-18 years-old, as of April 30, 2026. The specific composition of team ages are still to be determined. The 9-10 year-old age group will be formed as a 10U team with a developmental focus and more modest tournament participation.
