Thank you to the creators of the New Icons of Ithaca tribute for recognizing Dammi Herath and the remarkable impact she had on our community.
Dammi believed in the potential of every person who walked through our doors. Through her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping women rebuild their lives, she helped shape an organization that continues to serve our community today.
While much has changed since 1993, our mission remains the same.
The Women’s Opportunity Center is still here. Still helping women navigate life’s challenges. Still providing clothing, food, toiletries, support, life coaching, workforce development, entrepreneurship programs, and opportunities to build a brighter future. Every day, women walk through our doors looking for hope, resources, and a fresh start—and every day, we are honored to be part of their journey.
If you’d like to help continue Dammi’s legacy, there are many ways to get involved:
