CDRC’s Ithaca Office was blessed to have students from TTCA come clean windows, vacuum offices, and clean out an out of control supply closet. It was all part of their Servathon-where the school closes for the day and sends students out into the community to serve.

Great news in the CDRC mailbox today! 📭 We have the honor to receive funding from The United Way of Schuyler County. We wouldn’t be able to provide our mediation services at no cost if it wasn’t for support like this.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Baruch Bush, on Friday, February 27th. Baruch was a visionary leader and co-creator of the transformative approach to mediation, co-author of The Promise of Mediation, and a co‑founder of The Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation.

His impact on our work and our mission is immeasurable. It was Baruch who led the pivotal staff and board retreat in February 2001—an experience that ultimately guided our transition into a Transformative Center and shaped the way we practice transformative mediation to this day.

We are deeply grateful for his wisdom, leadership, and friendship. Baruch’s legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.

CDRC Executive Director and Tompkins County case coordinator delivered an appreciation plaque to retiring mediator LeGrace Benson.
At the well seasoned age of 96, she is stepping out of the mediator role. She attributes her longevity to the volunteer work and great connecting relationships that she made through CDRC.

CDRC thanks her for her dedication and commitment to helping others have constructive conversations around conflict. ♥️

CDRC Executive Director spoke about CDRC to the Ithaca City Club today. Thank you, William Highland, our board member who made this possible. I find it so appropriate that the opening song was “Side by Side” with one of the choruses being: “When they`ve all had their quarrels and parted
We`ll be the same as we started”-AND that folks is what CDRC does!

❄️Elmira City School District Schools are closed on Monday. The Chemung/Schuyler CDRC office that is located in Elmira at the Catholic Charities Building will be closed Monday. All staff will shift to working remotely.
