Can't wait to say hello again to Lucy at the CHQ Lake Dragon Boat Race on Saturday
Celebrating the Legacy of Lucille Ball: Tomorrow marks 115 years ago when Lucille Ball was born in Jamestown here in Western New York. Ball was born on August 6, 1911–became, of course, one of the great talents in history. The 2026 Lucille Ball Comedy Festival is the 35th year there in Jamestown and begins tomorrow, August 6th-August 9th at The National Comedy Center. This year marks 75 years ago when I Love Lucy debuted in October of 1951–and it STILL evokes great happiness and smiles. This statue of Lucille Ball is located in nearby Celoron, NY at the Lucille Ball Memorial Park. Wonderfully talented Carolyn D. Palmer sculpted this exquisite work of art that’s situated along the southeast edge of Chautauqua Lake there. For my followers here, a visit to our stop of this area of New York State is a must-see at The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, as well as this statue in nearby Celoron—it’s among my favorites, anywhere!
