Join us tomorrow on Thursday, June 11 at 7 pm at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum for a special screening of Tarzan Finds a Son! Filmed in nearby Silver Springs, Florida, this classic adventure has strong ties to our region's history.

We are excited to announce our new temporary showcase celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Orange Hotel! Come and enjoy our memorabilia display featuring room keys, matchboxes, glassware, and more, including menus from the beloved Fox and Hound Pub and Restaurant.

Originally opened as the Orange Hotel, the building was later renamed the Crown Hotel in 1981, and many of the items on display come from that era. This special display celebrates the hotel’s original opening and its long history in our community.

Buck Rich, long time Historic Courthouse Museum volunteer and Historical Society member was part of a Memorial Day event honoring members of the US military who gave their all. Veterans, families and community leaders gathered Monday at Fero Memorial Gardens for the cemetery’s 31st annual Memorial Day celebration honoring members of the U.S. military. Thank you Buck for your service.

Marcia Beasley will give a free presentation on Wednesday, May 27, at 2:00 PM at the Floral City Public Library as part of the Heritage Hour series in honor of Historic Preservation Month.

Beasley is a local historian and member of the Floral City Heritage Council.

Community members interested in local history and historic preservation are encouraged to attend this informative and engaging program.
