🎣 A day on the water, a few fish, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Downtown Inverness Rotary members Andres and Dave recently took our Rotary Youth Exchange students, Dani from Spain and Calliste from Austria, out fishing in Crystal River.

Experiences like this are one of the things that make Rotary Youth Exchange so special. Our students don’t just come to Florida to attend school — they become part of our community and our families. They get to experience the places, traditions, adventures, and everyday life that make Citrus County home, while sharing their own cultures and experiences with us.

And for our members and host families, we get the incredible opportunity to see our community through a whole new perspective. 🌎

Interested in learning more about Rotary Youth Exchange or what it’s like to host a student? You don’t have to have a perfect itinerary or take them on big adventures. Sometimes the best memories are simply made together.

If your family would be interested in welcoming a student from another country into your home and becoming part of this amazing experience, reach out to Downtown Inverness Rotary. We’d love to tell you more about Rotary Youth Exchange and how you can get involved!

💙💛 Another great night with Downtown Inverness Rotary! 💛💙

At last night’s meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing from Johana Villachica about the fundraising efforts for the Floral City Elementary School Safety Patrols and their upcoming trip to Washington, D.C.

Each student is required to raise $1,200 in order to participate in this incredible educational experience. As a club, we were proud to contribute $1,200 toward their fundraising efforts!

We hope our donation helps reduce the amount each student and their family needs to raise and makes this opportunity a little more accessible for these deserving students.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the young people in our community and help them experience, learn, and grow beyond Citrus County. 🇺🇸

Service Above Self — one project, one student, and one community at a time. 💙💛

🍂 September in Service with Downtown Inverness Rotary! 🍂

September was another busy month for our Downtown Inverness Rotary Club, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside our fellow Rotarians and community partners! 💙💛

📚 September 10th — Citrus County Education Foundation
We welcomed Caroline Christiansen and Shaunda Burdette from the Citrus County Education Foundation to our meeting. They shared with us about the Foundation’s work supporting students and education throughout Citrus County. We were proud to make a contribution to help support their efforts!

🇺🇸 September 12th — National Day of Service
Our members spent the morning at Florida National Cemetery, helping clean and care for the graves of those who served our country as part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance. It was a meaningful way to honor those who made the ultimate commitment to our nation. ❤️🤍💙

🎁 September 17th — Crown Court Assisted Living
Our members put together and donated care packages for residents at Crown Court Assisted Living. It was a small way to let our local seniors know that their community is thinking of them and appreciates them. ❤️

🌿 September 19th — Save Our Waters Week
Members of Downtown Inverness Rotary joined members of the Inverness Rotary Club to help clean up Cooter Pond as part of Save Our Waters Week. We’re proud to help keep our local waterways and community beautiful!

🍻 September 19th — Crystal River Nights Concert Series
That same evening, our members teamed up with the Homosassa Rotary Club to pour b**r at the Crystal River Nights Concert Series. Events like these help our Rotary clubs raise funds that go right back into our community through projects, donations, and local organizations.

This is what Service Above Self looks like — showing up, pitching in, and making a difference together. 💙💛

📣 And we’re not slowing down!
Join us tomorrow, October 1st, from 5:30–6:30 PM at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Inverness for our next Downtown Inverness Rotary meeting.

Our meetings are open to all Rotarians, prospective members, and anyone who would like to learn more about what we’re doing here in Citrus County and internationally.

Come see what we’re all about! 🙌

🇺🇸 Honoring Those Who Served Through Service 🇺🇸

Members of the Downtown Inverness Rotary Club recently had the opportunity to volunteer alongside Carry The Load at Florida National Cemetery, helping clean and care for the headstones of those who served our country.

It was a meaningful reminder that honoring our veterans doesn’t always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s simply taking the time to care for the places where their stories are remembered. ❤️🤍💙

We are grateful to Carry The Load for allowing us to be part of this important day of service and to our Rotary members who came out to lend a hand.

Service Above Self isn’t just our motto—it’s something we strive to put into action in our community. 🇺🇸
