This Memorial Day, members of the Rotary Club of Downtown Inverness had the honor of placing flags at Florida National Cemetery to pay tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

We remember and thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

This Saturday, we will be returning to help collect the flags. If you would like to join us in this meaningful effort, please reach out, we would love to have you.

Interested in getting more involved in our community? We invite you to join us at our next meeting on Thursday June 11th. Come see what Rotary is all about!

What a wonderful meeting we had this past Thursday at the Downtown Inverness Rotary Club!

We were excited to welcome several new faces and are so glad you chose to join us, we look forward to getting to know you and serving our community together.

During the meeting, we also discussed several upcoming events and opportunities to get involved, and there is so much to look forward to in the months ahead.

A highlight of the evening was an insightful presentation from our President-Elect, Tim Ramsey, who spoke about recognizing autism and how to communicate effectively with children who may be on the spectrum. His message was both meaningful and practical, and it aligns with our club’s goal of becoming involved with Nathaniel’s Hope — an organization dedicated to supporting children with special needs (referred to as “VIP Kids”) and their families through inclusive programs, resources, and community support.

As always, we invite all members and guests to join us at our next meeting. Please note that this upcoming meeting will be especially meaningful, as it will be our exchange student’s final meeting with us before she returns home to Slovakia. Let’s come together to wish her well and celebrate the time she has shared with our club!

We had a fantastic meeting this past Thursday with a packed house and great energy all around! It was wonderful to welcome back Amber, former Interact President, who shared an inspiring update on her college journey as she prepares for law school. We were also glad to have Jayden, the current Interact President at Lecanto High School, join us—our partnership with Interact continues to make us proud!

Service continues to be at the heart of what we do, and we’re excited for an upcoming opportunity to make a real impact. The Rotary Clubs of Citrus County are partnering with Rise Against Hunger for a hands-on meal packing event on Saturday, May 16 from 8:00–11:00 AM at Crystal River High School. Our goal is to package over 14,000 meals for families in need around the world, supporting Rotary’s mission to fight hunger and improve maternal and child health.

We encourage both our members and the public to get involved—this is a meaningful and fun way to give back, and all are welcome to participate. Bring a friend and be part of something truly impactful!

🚴‍♂️ What an incredible day at the 3rd Annual Inverness Bike City Century Ride! 🚴‍♀️

This past Sunday was a huge success, and we are so grateful to everyone who made it possible, from our riders to our amazing volunteers and supporters.

A special thank you to Gary Schram of GS Tractor, who truly saved the day when a tree fell across the bike path. He stepped in quickly to clear it and keep our riders safe! Thank you, Gary!

We’re also proud to share that all leftover snacks and breakfast items were donated to The Path Rescue Mission of Beverly Hills to help support those in need within our community.

👏 Shoutout to our incredible volunteers, including Justin, who attended his very first meeting just last week, and then jumped right in to help at the event alongside his son. That’s what Rotary is all about!

❤️ Thank you again to everyone who participated and supported this event.

👉 Interested in getting involved? Join us at our next meeting:
Thursday, May 7th at 5:30 PM
📍 Crown Court Hotel

We will be sharing details soon on our next volunteer opportunity, teaming up with Rise Against Hunger to pack meals for those who are food insecure.

Yesterday we had 132 riders from all over the country take part in our 3rd annual Bike City Century Ride.

It was a perfect day to enjoy our wonderful 46 mile bike trail. Rotarians and volunteers served breakfast, snacks, lunch and hydration at six SAG stops along the trail.

Special thanks to Dharma’s team from Vera Healthcare and the Crown Court (our title sponsor) for working the Floral City and Istachattta stops.

Everyone who rode the event said they had fun, loved the trail and especially Inverness!

Afterwards we delivered a truckload of food and water from the event to The Path.

More sponsor thank you’s to follow.

We had a wonderful meeting at our new location at Crown Court! It was great to see such strong attendance from our members, along with several new faces—we’re so glad you joined us.

With Beltane celebrated yesterday, a time that symbolizes new beginnings, growth and renewal, it felt especially meaningful to gather for our first meeting in this new space. We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to this next chapter for our club.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, we’d love to have you be part of what’s to come!

This morning, members of the Downtown Inverness Rotary Club spent time giving back by helping pack food for Citrus County Blessings!

Citrus County Blessings plays a vital role in our community by helping fight childhood hunger right here at home. Their program provides food to local students who may not have access to meals on weekends or during school breaks, ensuring they have something to eat when school cafeterias are closed. They also support families throughout the summer and work with local partners to recover and distribute food to those in need.

It’s an incredible effort that supports thousands of children across Citrus County and helps them come to school ready to learn and thrive.

If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved and make a difference locally, we’d love to have you join us!

We’re meeting tonight, April 30 at 5:30 PM at our new location: Crown Court in Downtown Inverness.

Reach out to learn more or stop by and see what Rotary is all about, we’re always welcoming new faces!
