Proud to support initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of our students. ๐Ÿซถ We believe every child deserves access to opportunities that support their health, well-being, and future success. That's why we were honored to help ensure that financial barriers did not prevent local students from receiving potentially life-saving ECG screenings this week.

More than 400 students were screened through an incredible partnership between Citrus County School District, Who We Play For, dedicated volunteers, coaches, families, and community leaders. This is what community collaboration looks like - people coming together to protect, support, and invest in our children.

As our students begin the trip home from Washington, D.C., we're reflecting on the memories, lessons, friendships, and experiences that made this adventure so special.

From standing beneath the Capitol Dome and visiting our nation's most treasured memorials, to witnessing history come alive and learning about leadership, service, sacrifice, and citizenship, this trip was so much more than sightseeing... it was an opportunity to grow, learn, and be inspired.

We are incredibly proud of each student for representing Citrus County with respect, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the week.

A heartfelt thank you to all the chaperones, teachers, volunteers, families, and sponsors who helped make this experience possible. Your dedication created memories that will last a lifetime.

The final day in Washington, D.C. was filled with smiles, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime!

After two days of learning, reflection, and experiencing our nation's history, the Safety Patrol students enjoyed a day of fun and celebration together. From thrilling rides to shared laughs with friends, it was the perfect way to cap off an incredible journey.

This trip was about so much more than travel - it was about leadership, friendship, service, and creating experiences these students will carry with them for years to come.

Thank you to our students, chaperones, School Resource Officers, teachers, and supporters who helped make this opportunity possible. Safe travels home tomorrow, and congratulations to these amazing young leaders on representing Citrus County so well!

Over the last two days, our 5th Grade Safety Patrol students and chaperones had the honor of visiting the ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‹๐š๐ฐ ๐„๐ง๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐œ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐Œ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ in Washington, D.C. Among the many meaningful moments was the opportunity to visit the memorial wall where the name of ๐‘ช๐’Š๐’•๐’“๐’–๐’” ๐‘ช๐’๐’–๐’๐’•๐’š ๐‘บ๐‘น๐‘ถ ๐‘ช๐’๐’“๐’‘๐’๐’“๐’‚๐’ ๐‘จ๐’๐’…๐’š ๐‘ณ๐’‚๐’‰๐’†๐’“๐’‚ has been added.

For many of our students, this was more than a history lesson... it was a powerful reminder of sacrifice, service, and the impact one person can have on an entire community. Seeing our students, chaperones, and SROs locate Andy's name and reflect on his legacy was an emotional and deeply meaningful experience.

The Phil Royal Legacy extends its heartfelt gratitude to every SRO who has served and continues to serve the students of Citrus County. Thank you for your dedication, your protection, your mentorship, and your unwavering commitment to keeping our children safe.

Corporal Lahera's legacy lives on in the hearts of our community, and his service will never be forgotten.

What an incredible day of learning, exploration, and unforgettable memories!

Today, our students experienced some of our nation's most iconic landmarks, including the Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, National Air and Space Museum, the U.S. Navy Memorial, and the Marine Corps War Memorial. Along the way, they gained a deeper appreciation for the people, events, and innovations that have shaped our country.

From standing where history was made to celebrating the spirit of exploration and discovery, every stop offered new opportunities to learn, reflect, and grow.

What an unforgettable day of learning, leadership, and adventure!

Today, our students explored some of our nation's most iconic landmarks and institutions, including the U.S. Capitol, the Smithsonian museums, the Lincoln Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Korean and Vietnam Veterans Memorials, and Arlington National Cemetery.

From standing beneath dinosaur fossils and sharks at the Smithsonian, to experiencing the awe of the Capitol Rotunda, to reflecting on the sacrifices made by our nation's heroes, every stop provided an opportunity to learn, grow, and gain a deeper appreciation for American history.

There was plenty of fun along the way too! Jumping in front of the Capitol, exploring exhibits, making memories with friends, and even taking a seat behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office exhibit!

These experiences are helping shape the next generation of leaders by bringing history, government, service, and citizenship to life.

Today, our incredible 5th Grade Safety Patrol students walked through history as they visited Arlington National Cemetery, witnessed the solemn Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, explored the Kennedy gravesites, and reflected on the sacrifices made by our nation's heroes.

The group also visited the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial before wrapping up the day at historic Mount Vernon, the home of President George Washington.

These experiences bring history to life in a way that no textbook ever could. Through every memorial, monument, and story shared, our students are learning about leadership, service, sacrifice, and citizenship.
