Congratulations to The Great Texas Balloon Race on fifty years!!

We’re excited to announce that the Great Texas Balloon Race will celebrate its 50th anniversary by returning to its traditional July dates in 2027, taking place July 22–25 in Longview!

We know July in Texas means heat, but moving the race back to July gives us a better opportunity for the weather conditions our pilots need. And there’s another BIG reason for the change... We’re adding a FOURTH day of competition flights!

That means more opportunities to see the skies filled with colorful hot air balloons, more chances to cheer on our pilots, and more time to enjoy everything the Great Texas Balloon Race has to offer.

Mark your calendar and save the date to celebrate our 50th anniversary with us, July 22-25, 2027!

50 Years. 4 Days. Extra Flights. Same GREAT race!

We look forward to seeing you in 2027!
