"I am a junior at Franklin College majoring in Creative Writing and English, with a minor in French!

I have had a deep, profound love for the arts and humanities from a very young age. From paintings to poems, I advocate for art to be accessible to everyone, since it can help people see, feel, or even create something after encountering it in their lives."

Don't forget to apply to our Annual Color Theme Show by next Monday, October 19th!

Presented by the Katharine B. Sutphin Foundation, this group exhibition will celebrate all interpretations of the color red. Cash prizes from $300 to $5,000 will be awarded and announced at 7pm on opening night.

Tending, an exhibition by Morgan Binkerd, is an exploration of placing roots and the places where we coexist. Binkerd's move from Anderson to Indianapolis has shaped her life and artistic development, and this show explores her evolving relationship with the land, architecture, and urban spaces.

This body of work explores how we love and care for the places we call home and how we share a relationship with the places we inhabit. Each piece explores tending as a phenomenonā€”not as a concrete landscape, but as tenderness, care, and the beautifully untamed marvel of nature.

In her latest exhibition, Inner Peace on a Budget, Yasha Persson presents a collection of collages in which she has taken old photographs and reassembled them to create something new.

Each collage is created by taking these images and patterns, then digitally altering and overlaying them. About this process, Persson says: "What I love about working digitally is the room it gives me for extreme experimentation. Nothing is precious."

Every Greatriarch portrait in the Polklore Museum carries a story, layered with meaning that unfolds the more you look.

Since 2018, artists have honored the Greatriarchs through a distinct style of portraiture, each piece paying homage to the neighbor and to Black artists who came before while giving voice to something entirely the artist's own.

Follow along with artist Chace Bailey as she does a deep dive into art history on each portrait. This is an ongoing video series, so keep an eye out for more new episodes as they roll out!

In Jay Parnell's show Dust, he explores dust not only as something left behind but also as something that records the very fabric of our environments.

"By rendering the invisible visible, my art challenges the perception of dust as something to be cleared, reframing it instead as a poetic archive of existence and a quiet monument to passing time," says Parnell.

"I'm a high school student at Herron High School. This is my junior year, and I am the President of my school's Studio Art Club, so, as you can tell, I'm really all about art!

I aspire to help share something I love with my community. My time at the Harrison Center will be spent working in administration and event planning."
