Improving lives through the power of the human-dog connection. Our vision is to instill pride and confidence in those we serve.

Paws & Think is a non-profit organization focusing on the at-risk community, both human and canine. We do this with two proven methods: one of training and providing therapy animals for both animal assisted activities and animal assisted therapies to youth, seniors and special needs individuals of all ages. The second method is our Youth–Canine Programs that facilitate classes for at-risk youth an

d teens, helping them to train shelter dogs with positive reinforcement behaviors. The young people learn responsibility, job readiness, anger management, parenting skills, leadership and positive life skills, while at the same time increasing the dog’s chances of adoption because of the basic obedience skills learned. Pride and confidence are found as a result of both aspects of our vision.

Please join Paws & Think in congratulating our 2 new teams and 1 veteran teams that passed their evaluations recently - they did outstanding jobs! 🎉🎉

Sarah Rodriguez & Belle: Belle is a 9-year-old lab/border collie mix who is so excited to be a therapy dog. Sarah and Belle are excited to try out many of our different venues, especially senior living facilities and libraries.

Terri Runnebohm & Nala: Nala, a 3-year-old pittie mix, is as sweet as they come. Terri and Nala are interested in volunteering at Brooke’s Place and other Southside venues.

Cessa Andrews-McMullen & Lady Bear: Cessa, a 15-year Paws + Think volunteer, and LadyBear, a 8-year-old malamute are quite the dynamic duo. They are looking forward to continuing their time with schools and senior living facilities.

Way to go teams! We look forward to seeing you at our partner venues and special events. 💙🐾💛

🐾 We had a paws-itively great morning with FOX59 on their Where’s Sherman? segment! 🐾

Sherman stopped by the Indiana State Museum to check out the new Cats & Dogs exhibit, where Paws & Think therapy team Jill and Jax joined in the fun alongside a Museum representative. Together, they helped share more about Paws & Think and the Museum’s upcoming Juneteenth celebration.

📅 Join us on Saturday, June 20 from 10am – 2:30pm for the State Museum’s Juneteenth celebration! Paws & Think will be one of the community vendors, and our therapy dogs will be at the Cats & Dogs exhibit! Come say Hi 👋🏼

Tonya Larson & Koa: Koa, a 1-year-old black pug, is a confident sweet girl eager to start volunteering. Tonya and Koa are interested in many different venues, especially senior living facilities and schools.

Ryan Christy & Luko: Luko is a 5-year-old St. Bernard/poodle mix who is a big sweetie pie. Ryan and Luko are excited to check out healthcare facilities and Paws around Town venues.

Alexa Bueltel & Rocky: Rocky, a 3.5-year-old Bernedoodle, simply loves all the pets. They plan to begin with volunteering at all kinds of Paws Around Town venues and college campuses to see where Rocky gets the most pets.

Robbi Miller and Cooper - Cooper is a precious 4.5-year-old Mini Whoodle who loves to be read to. Robbie and Cooper are regular Paws to Read volunteers, also enjoying visits to Brooke’s Place and Special events. Simply amazing you two!

🌈🐾 We’re heading to Pet Pride! 🐾🌈

Paws & Think is excited to partner with lidloungeindy for this year’s Pet Pride celebration, part of the Indy Pride festivities! Join us on Sunday, June 14, for a fun-filled day celebrating pets, community, and pride.

Please join us in thanking Lisa Jones for her many years of leadership and service to Paws & Think! Lisa officially rolled off our Board of Directors at the beginning of this year after eight years as a board member, and we are so grateful for the time, heart, and dedication she shared in this role. ❤️🎉

Lisa has been a longtime Paws & Think volunteer for more than 11 years, beginning with her first therapy dog, Rookie. She continues to stay active with her current therapy dogs, Toby and Winston, through Paws to Heal visits at Ascension St. Vincent, special events, and more.

Thank you, Lisa, for your continued support of Paws & Think and our community. We are so grateful for all you have done and continue to do!

Angie Miles & Murphy: Murphy is a 10-year-old black lab who is living his best life. Angie and Murphy are looking forward to volunteering at various medical facilities.

Kate Matsoukas & Sally: Sally is a precious 3.5-year-old Australian Labradoodle who is excited to start volunteering with Kate. This team is interested in learning about all the different volunteer venues.

Sara Freeman & Marty: Marty is a handsome 6-year-old golden who is pumped to start volunteering. Sara and Marty are interested in venues such as libraries, Brooke’s Place, and community events.

Steven Lampron & Scout: Sweet Scout is a 7-year-old lab that simply loves everyone. Steven and Scout are eager to continue to volunteer at venues such as Lilly, Special Events, and Paws Around Town. Amazing job team!
