๐พ with Daisy! ๐พ
For therapy dog Daisy, volunteering during Sensory Friendly Hours at Conner Prairie is the perfect Sunday morning outing. She doesnโt really care where she goes, she just loves people! And according to her handler, Joy, the feeling is definitely mutual. ๐
โThey bring her joy and she brings them joy, which brings me so much joy!โ Joy shared. โIt feels like such a gift in life to get to experience this with her. I wish everyone could!โ
One of Daisyโs most special gifts is helping people feel more comfortable around dogs. During a recent visit, Daisy met several children whose parents shared that they are usually afraid of dogs. With Daisy by their side, they were able to have a positive experience with a dog, and those small moments meant so much to Joy.
Daisy has a way of bringing happiness wherever she goes, but stories like this remind us that the impact of a therapy dog can be so much more than a wagging tail or a friendly hello. Sometimes, one gentle interaction can help someone overcome a fear and create a brand-new positive experience. ๐ถ๐
Weโre so grateful to Joy and Daisy for sharing their time, kindness, and Daisyโs joyful spirit with our community. Weโre celebrating 25 years of stories like theirs at our 25th Anniversary Tails of Celebration on September 25! ๐พ๐
