🐾 A Little Update on Harry! 💙

Harry hasn’t been feeling quite like himself lately. Our attentive volunteers noticed he was pawing at his mouth and just wasn’t acting like his usual “Harry” self.

With Harry recently having dental surgery, we wanted to make sure everything was healing properly. He headed back to the vet yesterday for a follow-up appointment.

The vet noticed a little inflammation around one of his tooth extraction sites, so we’ve decided to start him on antibiotics to help get things back on track.

Harry is now back at our rehab center, where he’ll get plenty of TLC while he continues to heal. ❤️

We’re hoping our little guy is back to his spunky self very soon!

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers for paying attention to the little changes in our seniors. Sometimes, the smallest changes in behavior are their way of telling us something isn’t right. This is exactly why attentive, individualized care is so important for these precious old souls. 🐾💕

🐾 There’s a new kid in town! 🐾

Everyone say hello to Bentley! ❤️

This tiny little gentleman joined the Silver Snout family from the shelter today. At 13 years young, Bentley may be small in size, but he is already proving to be as sweet as can be. 🥹🐶

Bentley will be seeing our vet soon for a full senior checkup so we can make sure he’s feeling his very best. If all goes well, this handsome little guy will hopefully be available for adoption soon! 🏡❤️

For now, Bentley is settling in, getting lots of love, and learning that his shelter days are officially behind him.

Welcome to Silver Snout, Bentley. Your next chapter starts now. 🐾💙

🐾 $5 FRIDAY — RESCUE DOESN’T STOP! ❤️

Last week’s fundraiser was AMAZING, and we are so grateful for everyone’s support! But the reality is, rescue doesn’t stop when the fundraiser ends. There are still so many seniors who need us!

Just look at THIS WEEK! 🐶

🐾 We welcomed two newbies, Coco and Sparkie!

🦷 Donnie had dental surgery and hernia repair.

🦷 Luke had his dental surgery.

🦷 Harry has his dental surgery and neuter TODAY!

🩸 Mia is having important lab work done.

💊 Exie’s chemotherapy and skin care medications cost us over $400, plus another $45 for his special food!

Senior dog rescue is EXPENSIVE, but these sweet, loyal souls are worth EVERY PENNY! ❤️

Can you spare $5 this Friday? Every dollar helps us continue saying YES to the seniors who need us.

👇 Donation links are in the comments!

Can’t donate? Sharing this post helps more than you know!

Thank you for continuing to show up for our seniors. We couldn’t do this without you! 🐾❤️

🐾 WE NEED A FEW MORE HELPING HANDS! 🐾

Did you know Silver Snout Senior Dog Rescue is 100% volunteer run? There are no paid staff members behind the scenes. Everything we do for our senior and special-needs dogs is possible because people in our community choose to give their time. ❤️

Right now, we especially need dependable volunteers to join the Care Team at our Venice Rehab Center for:

☀️ Morning Shift: 8–10 AM
🌙 Evening Shift: 6–8 PM

During these shifts, volunteers help with:
🐶 Feeding our senior dogs
💊 Administering medications
🧹 Cleaning and keeping the Rehab Center comfortable
🦮 Walking dogs, if physically able
❤️ And, yes… plenty of love, cuddles and belly rubs!

We ask Care Team volunteers to be able to commit to 2–3 shifts per week. Consistency is important to our dogs and helps keep the Center running smoothly.

This isn't just coming in to play with cute little old dogs—although that's definitely one of the perks! 😉 This is real, hands-on rescue work, and these dogs depend on our volunteers every single day.

📣 OUR NEXT VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION IS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3!

Space is limited. Anyone interested in attending must first complete a Volunteer Application. Once we receive your application, we'll send you an invitation with the details for orientation.

If you've been thinking about getting involved with Silver Snout, now is the perfect time! 🐾

Come join a pretty amazing group of people doing some pretty important work for some very deserving old dogs. ❤️
