From pencils to pianos, wood is part of our lives in more ways than we might realize!

It's National Forest Products Week, and we're celebrating the possibilities that start with trees. For Deeply Ingrained that includes birdhouses, which means trees can even become opportunities for young people to build skills, confidence, and connections through woodworking.

Build something green with us!

Today is National Green City Day and teens can join us at a library workshop to celebrate! Teens will get to work with real tools and build their own wooden herb planter to take home.

Teens should come ready to build, learn something new, and leave with a project you made yourself.

Character shows up in the choices we make while we work. It's slowing down to do it right, and being proud of the quality of your work. What you build matters, but so does how you build it!

A workshop can be more than a place to build. It can be a place to belong! Connection is one of the 5 Cs of Positive Youth Development. It grows through positive relationships with others.

When young people work alongside others, share ideas, solve problems, and create something together, they experience what it means to be part of a community. That sense of belonging gives them a stronger foundation for learning and growth inside the workshop and beyond it.

Who helped you feel like you belonged when you were growing up? We bet you still remember the impact they had!
