Remembering Our Beloved “General Georgia Buchanan” ❤️
Indiana Wish is heartbroken to share the passing of our longtime volunteer, friend, and one-of-a-kind Indiana Wish champion, Georgia Buchanan, who passed away on September 19th at the incredible age of 100.
For so many years, Georgia was a driving force behind our annual gala. Affectionately known as “General Georgia Buchanan,” she led with determination, passion, and an unwavering belief in the power of a wish. She helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Indiana Wish and, more importantly, helped make countless wishes come true for Indiana children and their families.
Georgia was so much more than a volunteer. She was a beloved part of the Indiana Wish family, a true friend, and an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her energy, dedication, humor, and heart were impossible to miss—and her impact will live on through every child whose life she helped touch.
We are incredibly grateful for the many years Georgia gave to Indiana Wish and for the legacy she leaves behind. Her work may have been behind the scenes at times, but the difference she made will be felt for generations.
Our hearts and prayers are with Georgia’s family and loved ones, especially her son, Bryan, a longtime Indiana Wish volunteer who continues his mother’s remarkable legacy of dedication to our mission.
