Help us welcome Candice Ward, IBCLC, CHW to The Milk Bank's Board of Directors.

Candice is the owner of owner of Sweetest Nectar LLC and an IBCLC, Full Spectrum Doula, and Community Health Worker.

"I’m a proud mother of six wonderful children and a supporter of breastfeeding families. All of my children benefited from breast milk and I have been a breastfeeding professional for the last ten years," she shared.

We loved hosting members of the Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana Nurse-Family Partnership Northwest Region team for a tour at our headquarters.

The Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana program pairs individuals pregnant with their first child with a registered nurse for ongoing visits aimed at assisting parents and families in providing the very best start for their children during the earliest, most developmentally critical years.

So far, the program has supported more than 10,000 families across 62 Indiana counties! We were grateful to connect with their Northwest Region team to educate about safe donor milk, milk donation, the long-term health benefits of breastmilk, and much more.

Thank you Cork Medicalfor volunteering at The Milk Bank! This has become an annual volunteer event, and we're so grateful for the continued support.

This year the team helped with lots of tasks, including:

-Putting together outreach grab bags for events
-Helping organize postpartum care kits
-Stuffing and addressing letters
-Counting and packing of outreach materials

We appreciate each Cork Medical team member who took time out of their day to learn more about life-saving donor milk and help us with some important projects.

Did anyone else enjoy participating in the March of Dimes events last weekend?

Our Assistant Director of Patient Services Allissa headed to the St. Louis, Missouri event, while our Assistant Director of Clinical Services Sarah attended the event in Louisville, Kentucky.

As an organization dedicated to improving infant health outcomes, we always enjoy collaborating with the March of Dimes as they continue to work diligently at combatting the infant and maternal health crisis across the country.

Exciting news! Putnam County Health Department - Unionville, MO, a partner who already hosts a Milk Depot, now has a Milk Express. We're grateful to be able to support families in Unionville, Missouri and the surrounding area by providing access to safe donor milk.

Our Milk Express program provides convenient locations where our outpatient families can access Pasteurized Donor Human Milk quickly and easily. By bringing both services together in one location, this partnership ensures more babies have access to the nutrition they need to survive and thrive.

Help us say thank you to Haley for her lifesaving gifts of milk! Thank you Cole County Health Department for all you do to support the health of families in Missouri 💕

Haley and her littles, Scottlyn and Sterling, are making a donation of life saving medicine. The Milk Bank screens, tests, and pasteurizes donors surplus to ensure it is perfectly safe for vulnerable newborns. Donating excess breast milk is a truly lifesaving act.

-Build lactation room accessory kits
-Compile healthcare folders
-Stuff special volunteer month mailings to our retired milk donors
