Thank you, Two Lick Valley Social Center for taking and posting photos! The annual picnic at Blue Spruce Park was wonderful! Sending a huge thank you to everyone who made it possible and everyone who chose to spend the day with us! We are looking forward to doing it again next year😀

Today we celebrate National Senior Citizens Day. In August of 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation declaring August 21st as National Senior Citizens Day. Although "Older Adult" is now preferred over the term "Senior Citizen", the meaning of this day remains the same.

National Senior Citizens Day honors the accomplishments of older adults, acknowledges their ongoing commitment to their communities, and raises awareness around issues affecting their health and wellbeing.

How can you honor this day?
✅Spend time with the older adults in your life.
✅Listen and learn. Ask older adults to share their stories, advice, and wisdom.
✅Support your community. Volunteer at a senior community center, senior living facility, or donate to causes that support older adults, such as a home delivered meal program.

There is plenty of time to get your vouchers and use them at a participating farmers markets- the last day to use vouchers is November 30, 2026.
