The Homer-Center School District members from our Students United Leadership Team were recognized last Thursday at Homer-Center School District.

Along with celebrating these students' achievements and dedication to Students United of Indiana County this past academic year, these student representatives were able to present a check on behalf of the United Way of Indiana County for $1,000 to Homer-Center School District.

This donation will support food and clothing insecurity in the district, a topic that Students United has focused heavily on this past year.

Thank you to the Students United Leadership Team Homer-Center representatives for your leadership and commitment to making a safe and supportive space for your peers!

This month's Student United Leadership Team focused on spreading homelessness awareness in our local schools. 🏫

Thank you to Sarah Schroth of ARIN IU 28 for presenting to our students and for providing the tools needed to make their bulletin boards for their schools! 👏

The Students United Leadership Team's December meeting not only strengthened the leadership skills of our local youth but also spread holiday cheer in our community.🌟

The meeting was an exciting session where students had the unique opportunity to learn from Dr. Erick Lauber of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) while he orchestrated a workshop for the students to simulate real-world scenarios involving tough decision-making!

They were then able to discover their own inherent communication style and how it influences their leadership approach.

The students wrapped up the meeting on a sweet note by decorating holiday cookies. These treats were not just for enjoyment but also served as "gifts of gratitude," prepared by the students for their counselors and school principals. ❄️🍪

At our recent meeting, our SULT (Students United Leadership Team) students talked about the importance of knowing yourself. ❤️

They participated in several activities that challenged them to look ‘inside’ and think about who they are. They also discussed the significance of gratitude and its mental and physical benefits.

The students then made posters that they could share with their fellow students so they also could identify things for which they had gratitude. 👏
