Meet David Doak, our fourth Kiss a Pig candidate. David is the son of Kenneth and Kandi Doak and was born and raised in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, alongside his younger brother, Ben. A 2005 graduate of Blairsville High School, sports were, and continue to be, a great passion of his. During his time at Blairsville, his teams won three Heritage Conference football championships and one Heritage Conference baseball championship. He was also proud to be selected to play in the Ken Lantzy Finest 40 Football Game.
After graduation, he continued his football career at Thiel College, where he was fortunate to be part of a PAC Conference Championship during the 2005 season. After his playing career ended, he continued his passion for the game by helping coach football at Blairsville High School for eight years. David is also proud to be part of the Blairsville Colts adult baseball team, where he has created lifelong bonds with countless individuals over his 22 years as a player.
David graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Eberly College of Business in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a minor in Economics. After graduation, he began working at Adelphoi Village as a youth care counselor, working with at-risk youth and striving to be a positive role model in their lives. Following this role, he began his career in banking as a teller for a local bank before joining S&T Bank as a Personal Banker at the main office in Indiana in 2020. He later returned to his hometown and currently serves as a Premier Relationship Banker at the Resort Plaza branch in Blairsville.
David is fortunate to still reside in Blairsville with his beautiful wife, Logan (Helman) Doak, whom he married in 2021, and their amazing three-year-old daughter, Dawson. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, giving back to his community, and golfing at Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort & Conference Center. Passionate about community service, he has volunteered for many programs over the years, including The Teddy Bear Fund Drive, the It’s a Wonderful Life Christmas Parade, speaking with youth during career days at Adelphoi Village, and participating in several United Way of Indiana County events. Most notably, he had the privilege of representing S&T Bank by kicking a field goal at a Pittsburgh Steelers preseason game to help raise funds for the United Way.
David's passion for sports remains strong and is something he proudly shares with his family as huge fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Penn State Nittany Lions football.

Meet our third Kiss a Pig candidate! Dr. Sally M. McCombie grew up in Barnesboro, PA and graduated from Northern Cambria High School. Her dad, Dan Miller, was a well-known high school teacher and football coach. His three daughters, Patty, Sally and Sue followed in his teacher footsteps. Their years of teaching total 146! Sally earned her Bachelor’s (1974) and Master’s at IUP (1978). She began teaching Home Economics in 1974 at Claysburg Kimmel High School and moved to the Northern Cambria Middle School in 1975. She left teaching in 1980 to become a full-time mom and homemaker. Sally still feels that was the best job of her life! In 1991, she was unexpectedly widowed. Being the mother of two young sons, she was forced to return to employment. With angels pulling strings for her, Sally received a phone call from a woman unknown to her, Linda Schaeffer from IUP. Linda offered Sally a half-time faculty position in a grant-funded program, New Choices . Sally served as a vocational counselor to single parents and displaced homemakers. The program prepared the participants with the ability to secure work. As Sally crawled up the ranks at IUP, she earned her PhD. in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, became a Professor and Dean’s Associate, and retired in 2020. Along the way, she married Jack Nelson. Sally served on the Evergreen After School Club Board (2010-2015). Sally has given numerous national and international educational presentations. She served 3 terms on the Purchase Line School Board (1993-2005). Sally is currently the President of the IASD School Board. Her awards include The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) Teacher Educator of the Year and the IUP Distinguished Faculty Award in Teaching. Jack and Sally live in Indiana; together they have 13 grandchildren.

Evergreen After School Club Kids Connect's Last camp of the school year was an excellent mini-camp at Buttermilk Falls! Dr. Kevin Patrick guided over 25 participants along a pathway and to the falls. Along the way, Evergreen kids searched for insects, saw tree "breathing holes*, and learned how the falls were formed. He also shared the park's ties with Mr. Rogers, and we saw remnants of the McFeeley koi pool and ce-ment pond. 😉 After we emerged from behind the waterfall, Dr Stacey Patrick has information and crafts to share from the Xerxes Society. Thank you, Drs Kevin & Stacey!!

Homer Center closed out our final family night of the school year with an unforgettable Club Carnival, and it truly felt like the happiest place in town for the night! ✨🎉
The room was buzzing with laughter, cheering, music, and excitement as students, families, and staff bounced from booth to booth playing games, winning tickets, and making memories together. 🎟️💛
Our carnival midway was packed with fun, including:
🦆 Duck Pond
🪙 Coin Toss
🍭 Twirl Pop Toss
📸 Photo Booth Fun
🎨 Temporary Tattoos
Students eagerly traded in their hard-earned tickets for carnival prizes like Ring Pops, stickers, bendy pencils, squishies, and more—and the prize table stayed busy all night long! 🎁✨
But the BIGGEST attraction of the evening was definitely our “SPLAT!” Pie Booth 🥧😂 where brave staff members volunteered to get pied by students… and some parents even turned the tables and pied their own kids! The line stayed full all evening with nonstop laughter, whipped cream, and hilarious reactions.
The turnout was absolutely incredible, and seeing so many families come together to celebrate made the night even more special. From carnival games and prizes to silly moments and smiling faces, it was the perfect grand finale to an amazing school year at club. 🎡🎪✨
Thank you to everyone who helped make this carnival such a huge success—we already can’t wait for next year! 💚
