DON’T MISS YOUR HOUR OF OPPORTUNITY!
In Matthew 20:1–16, Jesus tells the parable of a landowner who went out at different hours of the day to hire workers for his vineyard. Some started early in the morning, others at the third, sixth, ninth, and even the eleventh hour.
The fact that you started late does not mean you have nothing left to contribute. But when the opportunity comes, you must be willing to work!
The workers who were still standing idle at the eleventh hour were asked, “Why have you been standing here idle all day?” (Matthew 20:6, NKJV).
Their answer was simple: “Because no one hired us” (Matthew 20:7, NKJV).
They were not necessarily unwilling; they had not been given an opportunity. But when the invitation came, they responded.
Maybe you have watched others begin before you. Others seem to have advanced, established themselves, or entered doors you are still waiting to access. Do not let their timeline become a reason to abandon your own assignment.
God’s grace can give you another opportunity, but grace is not an invitation to remain idle. It is an invitation to respond when He calls!
Do not confuse waiting with wasting time. While you wait, prepare. While you pray, develop your gifts. While you trust God for an open door, become ready to walk through it.
And remember, the parable is not an excuse to procrastinate. The eleventh hour proves that God can still give an opportunity late in the day; it does not promise that every opportunity will remain open indefinitely.
***PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus, Deliver me from complacency, distraction, fear, and the habit of postponing what You have for me to do. Give me the wisdom to prepare while I wait, the discernment to recognize my moment, and the courage to respond when You open the door. Establish the work of my hands, and let my gifts, time, and strength serve Your purpose. Let your grace abound towards me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
DECLARATION
I declare that I will not waste my season waiting for perfect conditions. I will prepare, grow, and remain faithful. I will recognize the opportunities God places before me and respond with diligence. I refuse to be paralyzed by comparison or discouraged by the progress of others. By the grace of God, I will be fruitful in my assignment and faithful with the time entrusted to me. When my opportunity comes, I will be ready to work! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
