This is a sneak peek at some of the absolutely stunning quilts that will be displayed this Saturday from 10am-3pm at the stroll. The creativity and skill is quite something to behold. Take time to read some of the stories about the quilts because just receiving the quilts the past couple days has been so touching.

Good morning! The quilts are rolling in and piling up. Today I wanted to share our scavenger hunt prizes donated by our local quilt shops, Fabric Carousel and Little Splitpeas—a case of Bernina thread (96 spools!) and a beautiful handmade quilt.

If you participate in the quilt stroll scavenger hunt, you can turn in your form at any of the 3 churches. After the stroll, 2 winners will be drawn from the completed forms.

Big thanks to Doris Collins (Fabric Carouse) and Paige Loft (Little Splitpeas) for generously supporting this event.

See you Saturday!

The 19th Street Quilt Stroll countdown continues! At the Church of Jesus Christ is Latter Day Saints this year, there will be a quilt family stories area with memory and heirloom quilts with stories of their makers. You can make a paper family tree of your own. Our Family History library will be open with consultants available to help you find names and information about your own ancestors. The scavenger hunt prizes will be in the lobby. Kay Ohendalski will be the feature quilter. Come & see!

Come see the beautiful work of quilters from our community who in our day are “filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.” as those spoken and written about in Exodus 35:35.

At First Presbyterian Church, there will be a welcome tent at the driveway across from the Gibbs Elementary with a quilted truck and information for visitors. Enter the sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church from the back parking lot. They will also have a dress-making demonstration for a group that takes these dresses to Africa. And a silent auction to raise money for some of their church’s programs. Come see!
