Christmas in July at Focused Care will be here before we know it! We will be celebrating on July 25th at 2 PM. In the meantime, we’re collecting items in the Big Blue Boxes (by the CLC and Sanctuary) to take with us on the 25th in support of Focused Care residents.

We are collecting personal care items, individually packaged snacks, non-slip socks, and monetary
donations (designate Focused Care event) to help make this special event a memorable celebration.

Your generosity will bring comfort, joy, and encouragement to residents who greatly appreciate the support of our community.

We will be providing gifts for 60 residents at Focused Care.

List of items we need:
Personal Care Items for Men & Women: Shampoo,
conditioner, body wash, lotion, hand cream, deodorant.
Snacks: Individually wrapped candy bards, snack cakes,
peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers,
small bags of chips, soft pepermints, etc.
Socks for Men & Women: Non-slip socks, regular socks.

Our church recently received the first Congregation Award from The Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church!

For our last (but not least) post recapping all that went on at the church yesterday, we’re excited to highlight all of the work our volunteers put in to serve over 90 individuals who are in town for U.M. ARMY!

FUMC Huntsville will be housing these students and adults as they work with and in the Huntsville community to complete various construction projects.

They are working to build the KINGdom while simultaneously building the KINdom! We look forward to seeing the wonderful things they accomplish in their time here, benefitting our neighbors, all while our neighbors leave a lasting impact on their hearts.

Our Superstar Seniors deserved their very own post!

We spent all morning celebrating these young people on their graduations from HHS (for Emily and Molly) and SHSU (for Cole)! But more than that, we celebrated the incredible impact each of them has made on this church community and beyond during their time here.

From the sweet and thoughtful words from our youth director, Ashley, to the meaningful Q&A session with Pastor Karen, the day was filled with love and joy while honoring each of these wonderful individuals.

Rev. Ellen Willet also took the time to recognize Molly and Emily as recipients of the Goad Scholarship given in memory of her son.

Thanks to the many folks who helped to make this day a special one, and thank you to our phenomenal seniors and their families for all that you have poured into this church.

Our small but mighty team of helpers (including First Presbyterian Church members) on this Service Sunday!

Thanks to all who assisted with prepping the meal for the visiting UM Army group that arrives this evening (and thanks in advance to those who will be serving the meal to them)! Thanks as well to those who assisted with cleanup around the FUMCC playground, and to our friends who spent their afternoon painting boards and doing yard work for a community member!

We are grateful for all of the helping hands in our community.

Tomorrow is a busy, but very special Sunday!

- In both the 9 and 11 o’clock services we will be hearing from our three incredible seniors, Molly, Emily, and Cole.

- During the Sunday School hour, at 10 AM, we will have a shared brunch time in the Community Life Center, and the seniors will have their tables set up. Be sure to stop by to wish them the best on their next adventure (and to grab some yummy food!).

- Following the 11 o’clock service, we will gather for a quick bite to eat (if you’re still hungry), and will begin a few Service Sunday projects with some assistance from our friends at First Presbyterian Church around 12:30 PM!
We will have one group preparing taco bowls for the UM Army group that will be arriving later in the day. Some other projects are in flux, but if you like working outdoors, come prepared with some work gloves, and we will take care of the rest.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning!
