A joyful morning at the St. Peter Food Pantry! Our friends from Meijer Huber Heights stopped by last week with a “giant check” as they presented a $5,000 donation in honor of our own Hunger Relief Hero, Barb Nagel. Out of nearly 400 nominations across six states, only 18 volunteers were selected — and Barb was one of them. What an honor for her, and for our parish community.

We were also grateful to give Meijer’s store leadership, Michael Jodrey and Michelle Kesler-Neely, a tour of the pantry. They were genuinely impressed by the scope of the work our volunteers do each week, and they left excited to partner with us in new ways.

We also want to recognize Barb, who has stepped into the pantry lead role with such steadiness and grace. Her dedication has guided us through a season of transition, and this award reflects her heart for our neighbors.

But as always, this ministry is bigger than any one moment or one person. It works because so many volunteers show up week after week — stocking shelves, sorting donations, greeting families, and offering the hands of Christ with joy. This gift honors the work all of you do for our community.

Thank you, Meijer.
Thank you, Barb Nagel.
Thank you, volunteers.
Our parish community is blessed by each of you.

A huge thank‑you to the St. Peter Elementary PTO for making the Neon Night Spring Fling both fun and generous. Admission to the event was an item for the St. Peter Food Pantry — and the St Peter community showed up in the brightest way possible.

We received three full shopping carts of donations from the families who attended. That’s an incredible amount of care gathered in one night, and it will go straight to our neighbors who need it most.

To the PTO, the families, and everyone who contributed: thank you for lighting up the pantry with your generosity. Your kindness makes a real difference here in Huber Heights.

A huge thank‑you to the team at Flying J Travel Center (175 Northwoods Blvd, Vandalia) for thinking of St. Peter Food Pantry this past weekend. They had extra strawberries and reached out to us so they wouldn’t go to waste — and wow, were they beautiful. Truly some of the nicest berries we’ve seen in a long time.

They went straight out to families on Saturday, and the smiles said everything.
And one of their team members even helped load up our volunteer's car with those gorgeous berries.
Moments like that remind us how generous our community really is.

Thank you, Flying J, for caring about your neighbors and helping us get good food into good hands.
