Please keep in your prayers Iryna Martyniouk and her family. Iryna was the Music Director for many years at St. Peter Church.

May the songs of the Angels welcome you and guide you along your way. May the smiles of the Martyrs greet your own as darkness turns into day. Every fear will be undone, and death will be no more, as songs of the Angels bring you home before the face of God! May the Angels lead you into Paradise.

A BIG THANK YOU to the Altar Rosary Society from Holy Cross Church and Our Lady of the Rosary Church for inviting the SGFP staff to a wonderful and delicious lunch last week. Your kindness, hospitality, and generosity were truly appreciated; and we are grateful for the opportunity to spend time together and meet new friends. Thank you for making the day so special! We sincerely appreciate your warm welcome and friendship.

Virtues, EXPLAINED!
In being affable, we make ourselves friendly, approachable, and agreeable to those around us, regardless of how they make us feel. “How good and how pleasant it is when brothers dwell together as one,” writes King David in Psalm 133.

Birth of John the Baptist (Solemnity): June 24
“Christians are called to be good stewards of the personal vocations they receive,” the US bishops say in their pastoral letter on stewardship. “Each of us must discern, accept, and live out joyfully and generously the commitments, responsibilities,
and roles to which God calls him or her.”
This call is clear in St. John the Baptist. St. Augustine says of him: “For when yet unborn, he leapt in his mother’s womb at the arrival of blessed Mary. In that womb he had already been designated a prophet." St. John, pray for us!

St. Christopher Church will be closed starting on Monday, August 3, for the installation of new flooring and kneelers within the entirety of St. Christopher Church. The flooring has worn out, and it makes sense to add kneelers to the rest of the Church, as it never made sense to me to only have one section with kneelers, while everyone else stood. However, to expedite the process, the Church building will need to be closed for approximately six weeks, which includes all Sunday Masses. We are adding two additional Sunday Masses to our weekend schedule: 8:00am Mass at St. John the Baptist Church and 6:30pm at St. Peter Church.

Steward Saint: Paulinus of Nola (354-431)
After a career as a lawyer, he retired at 35 to enjoy a luxurious life. However, God had other plans! Shortly after retirement, St. Paulinus and his wife, Therasia, were baptized. Then, saddened by the death of their infant son, they gave away their wealth and moved to Nola. They embraced a monastic lifestyle and set up a hospice to care for the sick and house pilgrims visiting the shrine of St. Felix.
In 409, Paulinus was called to use his experience in public affairs as Bishop of Nola. St. Paulinus used all his gifts in the service of the Lord. In a poem dedicated to St. Felix, this good steward said, “With all my wealth I pay for the hope of heaven, because hope and faith are of much more value than all the riches of this world.”

LIVE THE LITURGY -
“What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light.” We all hear God’s voice whispering in our hearts. Discipleship means speaking those words out loud. We all feel the Spirit sing into our souls. Discipleship means that we dance to the tune.

This Father’s Day, take a moment to reflect on the profound gift of fatherhood. In his latest column, The Gift and Art of Fatherhood, Archbishop Casey explores how fathers shape future generations through faith, love, example, and sacrifice. Drawing on family memories and the enduring love of God the Father, he reminds us that fatherhood is both a gift and a lifelong calling.

As we celebrate and pray for fathers—living and deceased—join Archbishop Casey in reflecting on the legacy of love that fathers are called to pass on. Read the full column at www.thecatholictelegraph.com/art-of-fatherhood
