Patient of the week 💗
With hundreds of patients, it’s hard to choose which to feature! But we chose this little fighter because she could use all the good vibes she can get.
This fawn was admitted after being found trapped in a hole. Many times situations like these only require a helping hand to get the animal out, but in this case she was weak, dehydrated, and hypoglycemic. She was also at risk for capture myopathy after struggling for so long that she rubbed all her fur off in multiple places. We are hopeful but guarded about her prognosis.
Regarding our heavy patient load… Please have patience if you call us seeking help. With so many patients in care and an extremely high call volume, we are not able to return calls as quickly as we would like. We absolutely hate knowing there are animals in need waiting for our response, but we need to prioritize the care of our current patients to ensure they get the care they need to have their best chance of survival. Please reach out to other rehabbers until you find help.
