PCYDI (Pinckney Community Youth Development Initiative) is a united collaborative effort behind the idea that we as a community can not only change our community’s reputation, but we can take a stand for our youth’s futures. We are partnered with the pillars of our community: the schools, the local government, businesses and local churches, because we are all very passionate about this mission. We
are inspired by and acknowledge the brilliant young people we have in our community! We happen to be in a place with endless possibilities—we have amazing schools, a beautiful natural landscape, and a community that cares deeply. We are not merely entertaining the youth until they grow up, or providing an escape. We are a movement to help our entire community get out of the work-home, school-home cycle to do something meaningful. We pool our resources to help our youth take on leadership roles, to have a place to make healthy and positive choices, and to help our youth have a voice.
