Today's video is a giant THANK YOU. 👏🏽

Thank you to Howell Area Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Council of Livingston County for funding a recently completed housing analysis, and another 'thank-you' to Livingston County Catholic Charities for funding an additional study, which will be completed by the end of 2026.

One more day of celebrating three years of Bethel Suites! 👏🏽🏡

In addition to housing people who have become homeless, the team at Bethel Suites feeds them and connects them to key community resources.

Over the years, Bethel's food program has grown from a small freezer of meals to fresh, nutritious meals delivered multiple times a week, an onsite food pantry, a personal care pantry, and donated cooking appliances that guests can take with them when they leave! 🥙 🍕 🥬 🍔 🔌

Our incredible community partners (you know who you are!) have joined with us to make feeding our guests a top priority, allowing individuals and families to experience comfort and nourishment year-round.

We also have onsite community resources to assist guests with finding a job, getting weekly counseling, finding healthcare and child care that they can afford, developing a budget, and finding and moving into housing that they can afford. 📈🧑🏽‍🔧

As we close out this week of celebration, we invite you to join us in loving and serving our neighbors—whether that's in the form of a volunteer day, a monetary donation, a business partnership, or something else.

We're continuing to celebrate three years of our flagship transitional housing project, Bethel Suites, with good news and stories of hope! 🎉

Did you know our Bethel Suites guests stay with us for an average of 9 months, as they work to stabilize their lives from the trauma that caused them to become homeless?

And here's something truly incredible:

We have been able to help about 70% of the people who stay with us move into PERMANENT housing that they can afford. That compares to the national average of a 10% success rate! TEN!

We're celebrating THREE YEARS of Bethel Suites with stories of hope and good news! ✨

On average, we're honored to serve about 30 people each month at Bethel Suites. Each of these individuals or families have lost their housing. Some are sleeping in their cars (and that's if they have a car).

The need for attainable housing here in Livingston County cannot be overstated: Bethel Suites receives around 50 calls or emails a month from people who desperately need help with housing. 🏡

Even when it feels like a drop in the ocean, we know that every single guest at Bethel is a human being worthy of dignity and respect. Every guest has a past, but more importantly: a future, and we are blessed to play a role in their lives as they get back on their feet...three years, and counting!

THREE YEARS! 🎉✨

This week, we're celebrating THREE YEARS since the grand opening of our flagship transitional housing project, Bethel Suites!

Bethel Suites exists to love, serve, and transition people struggling with homelessness into permanent, affordable housing—and over the years, we've have been able to help about 70% of the people who stay with us move into permanent housing that they can afford.

(That compares to the national average of a 10% success rate!) 😲

This week, we'll continue to share Bethel stories of transformation and hope; but for now, won't you join us in celebrating this incredible milestone?! ⤵

Did you know?! 👀

Michigan was the FIRST state to develop an action plan to formally address the growing need for attainable housing!

Our Senior Director of Housing (and resident Housing Mama), Amy, was at a regional meeting earlier this month to see firsthand the positive impact this plan is making.

THANK YOU to Michigan State Housing Development Authority and the Community Action Agency for hosting this crucial meeting, and for sharing your knowledge with all of us!

When serving with excellence is the goal, learning and growing is second nature!

Congratulations to our CEO, Eileen Moeller Zilch, for completing her latest fundraising course at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy! She'll be bringing everything she's learned back to Community Catalysts, helping us to refine our approach to fundraising and communicate our mission in bolder, bigger ways.

THANK YOU to The Herrick Foundation for sponsoring this incredible opportunity, and for encouraging us in our journey to bring attainable housing to Livingston County. We are so grateful. 🧡
