Before we take flight and fully shift into Homecoming mode, Texas Southern University pauses to mourn the passing of Marquise McGee, a cherished member of the Tiger family.
As we remember Marquise, we honor the life he was building, the promise he carried, and the impact he made within our university community.
We extend our deepest condolences to Marquise’s family, friends, classmates, professors, and all who knew and loved him. During this difficult time, we encourage members of the TSU community to lean on one another and seek support when needed.
Counseling resources are available through the TSU University Counseling Center (UCC), located inside the University Health Center at 4110 Tierwester St., Houston, TX 77004. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., by calling 713-313-7804. For after-hours emergencies, please contact the After-Hours Crisis Number at 713-313-7863.
May Marquise’s memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. We hope his loved ones find comfort in the memories they shared, the lives he touched, and the love that surrounds them.
As we enter Homecoming Week, a time of community, tradition, and celebration, we pause to remember the Tigers who are no longer with us but will forever hold a place in our hearts and be present in spirit at 3100 Cleburne.
May God and our dearly departed Tigers continue to watch over and protect our university community.
Forever a Tiger. Forever in our hearts.
