Italian Cultural & Community Center

Italian Cultural & Community Center ICCC Houston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to advance, celebrate, and preserve Italian culture and heritage.

Our Mission:

The mission of the Italian Cultural and Community Center is to advance, celebrate and preserve Italian culture and heritage. Our History:

In 1976 the Italian Cultural & Community Center was formed as an umbrella organization. The ICCC coordinated the activities of more than 20 Italian Clubs in the greater Houston area. The ICCC became a non-profit organization with a 501(c)3 status

in 1982. In 1988, the ICCC, with the proceeds from its earliest fund-raising efforts, purchased the historic Milford House in the Houston’s Museum District and became known as the Italian Cultural & Community Center. The Gift of Italian Culture:

For members of Houston’s Italian-American Community, many of whom became active ICCC members, the acquisition of the Milford House was the realization of a dream. For Houstonians of all backgrounds, the Italian Cultural and Community Center is the gift of Italian culture to the City of Houston. The Italian Cultural & Community Center (ICCC) actively serves:

-Italians who have relocated to Houston
-Americans of Italian descent
-Italophiles, those who are interested in Italy and its culture

Meet Nhu, rising junior at Rice University and our second recipient of our latest scholarship cycle.

Nhu is a rising junior at Rice University majoring in Art and Art History. Surrounded by various paintings, books, and a yellow toolbox, she experiments with how art can explore the systems that shape everyday life. Outside the studio, she enjoys playing piano, walking her dog, and exploring untranslatable words from different languages. Nhu strives to contribute to conversations with her audience about how visual art functions as an ethnographic archive, informing how viewers understand the relationship between narrative, observation, and representation in her practice.

Today we celebrate Festa della Repubblica, Italian Republic Day 🎉

Observed each year on June 2nd, this national holiday commemorates the 1946 referendum in which the Italian people voted to establish the Italian Republic. It remains a day that honors Italy’s history, culture, and democratic spirit.

From celebrations across Italy to Italian traditions shared around the world, Festa della Repubblica serves as a reminder of the heritage and pride that continue to shape Italian identity today.

Buona Festa della Repubblica from all of us at the ICCC!
