🗽Meet David, one of our incredible runners for the 2026 TCS !

Born and raised in NYC and currently a senior at NYU, David carries a deep connection to his Ecuadorian roots. An exchange project in Ecuador with AMIGOS brought that bond into sharp focus, reminding him just how vital family, heritage, and cultural connections are, values he now represents on the race course.

Now, he’s taking on the streets of his hometown with a big milestone in sight!

“I have a long-term goal of completing an Ironman, and running the NYC Marathon is an important step in that journey. Combining it with a cause this meaningful makes it all the more special.”

Every mile David runs supports youth leadership and cross-cultural exchange programs across the Americas.

Thank you, Amigos! Together, we raised over $200K at this year’s Lifelong Leaders Luncheon Benefit! 🎉 ❤️

🌎 On Friday, September 25, more than 250 Amigos gathered at The Briar Club in Houston to celebrate the young people, alumni, families, volunteers, and supporters who have made the AMIGOS journey so meaningful for over 60 years.

The afternoon came to life through inspiring remarks from keynote speaker Laura Arnold, AMIGOS parent and Co-Founder and Co-Chair of Arnold Ventures, and emcee Matt Rascon News, Emmy Award-winning journalist and 2006 AMIGOS Paraguay volunteer.

One of the most meaningful moments was our Candlelight Reflection, bringing alumni from across generations together. Among them were Doug Alexander, AMIGOS alum from 1970–1974, and 13-year-old Grayson Parker, who participated this past summer. More than 50 years apart, their stories show how the AMIGOS experience continues to be passed from one generation to the next, connecting people across different summers, generations, and experiences.

Thank you to everyone who made this year's celebration possible: our Co-Chairs, Host Committee, sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, alumni, and friends. Whether you joined us in Houston, bid in the auction, or cheered us on from afar, you are part of this community!

Thank you for helping us inspire today’s youth to lead tomorrow’s world.
