ODP is back on stage next Wednesday, June 24th, for the inaugural HTX Contemporary Dance Festival, hosted by ! Join us at the for a two-day celebration of contemporary dance designed to bring Houston’s arts community together in a meaningful and engaging way!

Nurturing the next generation of aspiring artists is at the heart of ODP’s mission! Open Dance Project’s Pre-Professional Company, ODP2, work and train in contemporary dance techniques under the direction of ODP artists at , perform alongside ODP company members in our annual family production, and choreograph and perform their own works in The Young Choreographer’s Project each Spring. These experiences help to bridge the gap between studio training and professional proficiency, offering an unprecedented level of technical focus and creative exploration that challenges and expands the athleticism, creativity, and versatility of these pre-professional artists.

Bonnie & Clyde, a story we all know, but told through a dance-theater, multi-media, immersive experience.

The performance engages audience members in a multi-sensory experience that places them in the direct center of the theatrical moment where they are invited to sit at the cafe where Bonnie works and share a Coke and slice of pie or read a page from the Dallas Herald where the latest escapades of Bonnie and Clyde are chronicled. Audience members navigate the performance space independently, indulging their curiosity by opening letters or reading journals or stepping back to view the scene from a critical distance.
