A Word for the day...

God desires to make impact through you!
1Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Life as a believer today has become mired with modern culture. The desire to determine the perception of what a Christian is, can be lost with the belief that the Word; when preached from the pulpit can be contimplated and no reason to respond, and that preaching mixed with more poetry - philosophy - and historical or current events either compliment or make a more digestible, but fail in being a transformative message with the milk of God's Word.

In some ways the attempt to proclaim a more impactful Word has become intertwined with more human thought rather than that which is divine, or the Mind of Christ. (Phil. 2:5) "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

But dispite this, Peter gives us some instruction how God wants to impact us and we ive the life of God's living witness:
1. Sanctifying the Lord God in your heart... our heart which is the center from where we do things, must have a hollowed chamber where darkness of thought or sin should not live. Our heart should be the residence that we consecrate and welcome the Spirit of Christ to live with authority. We must be free from the impurity of unconfessed sin. We must avoid covering or hiding our sin. Proverbs 28:13 says "Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. NLT

2. And be ready to give an answer for reason of hope... there is only one answer for our hope, it is Jesus Christ who ever liveth interceding for the beleiver. The testimony of your delivered life from the power and practice of sinning can be an avenue to share. When we are following Christ we can not only give hope but we can give divine strength to others. Jesus in Luke 22:31 - 32 says" But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Note, church fellowship or attendence alone is not the sole reason of gaining strength, but to have a surrenered life of worship and obedience in faith will empower us to return being set aside for God's purposeful use.

3. Meekness and fear come from a transformed life, and are a real sign that the fruit of the Spirit demonstrates the Lord has carrried you through prepared fire, been with you in unexpected storms, has restored you from a place of sickness, and through it all and more its been the Lord. We learn how as He takes us through, and we trust Him now through it all. Now I've learned how to holy...

Dont be afraid to go through or have fear of. Remember God is forming the image of His Son in you to Live a life of impact!

I find it ironic and amazing to share, that celebrating 38 years of marriage is largely determined in the value that family has been placed upon us as children. Adrienne and I have both come from loving parents who have given us love, nurture, and a foundation where Christ, who is the foundation, and the head of His church, have right His placement in our lives personally. It is through our journey of faith that constitutes our being able to celebrate our personal relationship of marriage in the most esteemed way.

Our marriage has outlived my mother's life who died at the young age of 38, so this moment is an unforgettable one personally. Her death, still to this day brings tears to my eyes, because she unlike me came to Christ in the 11th hour. But thanks be to God, she gets paid the same wage as those who began their journey in the early part of the day.
One of the requests my mother made of me was, "Michael I want you to get closer to your Father." At the time I thought she was speaking of my natural dad. Clearly, then, I did not understand her request until I began to look upward in my journey of faith. My life looking upward has helped me to be able to celebrate a most cherished marriage with Adrienne. This celebration truly is because we have Christ as our foundation, and we both have a lived experience of the value of marriage and family we hold dear, and can warmly reflect on.
So this 38 years of our marriage is very special, one its a memorial to the request my mother made of me I have carried through our marriage. But also, I truly have a wife and marriage I joyfully celebrate, even my late Pastor, Calvin Abraham would always tell me you are a blessed man in the person of Adrienne.
So I say to those who read this affirmation, let the Lord repurpose your married relationship, and and He will sustain you with exceeding joy, He is after all the all wise God!

A Word for the day...
Let's keep in step!

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

Younger people like the Millenials are said to spend an average of $2600 a year on beauty products. But also there are four other businesses women will spend more: food, fitness, beauty, and apparel.
Men on the average spend $250 - 500 yearly on colognes, and $1956 yearly on clothing, so roughly it averages out to the same for both.
Truthfully, we 'all have been raised to care for our personal hygene, look our best, and to carry ourselves with good deportment. These characteristics are what we encounter most and first as people.
In the Baptist church there is an average of 59% to 65% of women in the pews each Sunday, compared to 40% - 35% of men. Is this the same for every church, no, there are fellowships who have overwhelmingly large numbers of men.

But if we look another way at what Peter is saying in light of the church, she is the Lords bride. She is a sanctified vessel, transformed, whose life spirit should have an unfading beauty, have a gentle spirit, and a quiet spirit. We must remind ourselves, these attributes are only accomplished through the work of the Holy Spirit, Galatians 5:22 - 23.

Let's keep in mind, as Peter says, " Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,

who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
May we all have that inward beauty by way of Spirit. This will compell others to meet our Savior.

A good place to start!

A thought for the day...
Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless - not overbearing, not quick tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

As men raising their family in this age, each man must be predisposed to what God purposes to accomplish in his life. In the opening verse of Ps. 128:1 "Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in His ways. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.

Raising our personal family is equally if not more important, because those that enter the Lords house are products of our efforts.
The results of God working within us both the will and to do should not contridict the other. And should continually present the Spirits perfect work. Our example being formed into the image of Gods Son starts with us first.
As men we must demonstrate who is the head of their lives, this fruit will be evident in ones season. The unmistakeable outcomes will prove Gods "good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. "So Let's return to the basics, discovering our fruitful relationship with Christ.

One must note, that the earth is the Lords and all of its fullness, but God does not move until we begin to talking with Him in faith. His hand, though powerful and far reaching, does not move without the prayer of faith

Prayer is not instructing God, or informing Him, or attempting to impress Him with eloquent praying. But prayer is the communicating four faith that moves you and I closer to our heavenly Father— it is our portion of faith He gives that we deploy that moves God's hand according to His will.

The Christian is not free to do what the Bible forbids. Christian freedom does not entail the right to fornicate or to steal or to lie or to persist in an unforgiving attitude or to do anything else the Scriptures explicitly prohibits. And a person who lovingly points this out to you is not a legalist for having done so!
