Many communities still rely on water infrastructure that has served generations. Protective coatings, corrosion control technologies, inspections, and rehabilitation strategies all play an essential role in helping these systems continue delivering safe, reliable water.

Some of our most important infrastructure is also some of our oldest. 🚰

Standards don’t just guide our industry - they protect it.

Join AMPP’s ANSI-accredited process and help build the frameworks that keep infrastructure safe, reliable, and built to last.

Through Standards Committees, you can:
- Bring your expertise to the table
- Influence how work gets done across the industry
- Help prevent failures before they happen

We're currently looking for volunteers from industries such as maritime and shipbuilding, civil and critical infrastructure, defense, and water and wastewater to help shape the future of industry standards.

Protective coatings serve as a barrier between materials and their environment. Even a small holiday, scratch, chip, or coating defect can become an entry point for moisture and contaminants.

⚠️ Over time, corrosion may spread beneath the coating, affecting areas much larger than the original defect.

Proper surface preparation, application, inspection, and maintenance all play an important role in maximizing coating performance and asset life.

Sometimes the smallest vulnerabilities create the biggest risks.

The 4th AMPP Italy Conference + Expo 2026 concluded today in Genoa after three days of technical exchange, professional collaboration, and industry engagement.

The final day featured technical sessions focused on hydrogen service, sour corrosion, reinforced concrete durability, corrosion-resistant alloys and welding, and cathodic protection. Attendees explored topics ranging from pipeline integrity and offshore structures to advanced materials, predictive corrosion modeling, and strategies for extending the service life of critical infrastructure.

The exhibition hall remained active through the closing hours, providing opportunities for attendees to connect with exhibitors, researchers, asset owners, contractors, and solution providers before gathering for the Farewell Cocktail and closing remarks.

Thank you to the AMPP Italy Chapter, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, media partners, volunteers, and attendees whose contributions helped make this event a success.

Arrivederci, Genoa, and thank you for hosting an outstanding event. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
