HCAS congratulates Alifya Ali on receiving a $1.2 million grant through AT&T’s Untold Stories initiative at the Tribeca Festival!

We’re proud to have recently hosted Alifya at Houston Cinema Arts Festival, where she and her collaborators from Sleepover Films shared insights and inspiration for the next generation of storytellers. Alifya’s work as a filmmaker and advocate for diverse storytelling continues to make an impact across the industry.

We’re thrilled to partner with Sharpstown Parks Alliance for a special screening of a selection of award-winning short films from the international CineSpace competition, created using real NASA footage.

Come early to connect with Houston’s film community. HCAS and SWAMP will be on-site to answer questions, and the Houston Parks Board will share updates on upcoming improvements to E.L. Crain Park.

WE’RE HIRING: Seasonal Operations Coordinator

Houston Cinema Arts Society (HCAS) is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Seasonal Operations Coordinator to support the Houston Media Conference, Houston Cinema Arts Festival, and select year-round programs.

This is a contract role ideal for someone who thrives in logistics, systems, and fast-paced event environments. You’ll help keep things running smoothly across scheduling, ticketing, vendor coordination, and on-site event operations.

✨ You might be a great fit if you:
• Have experience with events, festivals, or nonprofit work
• Are extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Can manage multiple timelines and shifting priorities
• Are comfortable working independently and communicating proactively
• Are familiar with (or ready to learn) tools like Google Workspace, Airtable, Eventive, and Bloomerang

📍 Houston-based (in-person support required during key events)
🗓 Contract: May – November 2026 (peak work during conference & festival season)
