Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration. But we also know the moment we’re living in.

Across our communities, Hispanic and Latino people are facing fear, uncertainty, and increased scrutiny. Families are having difficult conversations about immigration. About safety. About whether they truly belong in the places they call home.

We see you.

Pride has always meant standing with people when their dignity, safety, or right to belong is challenged. That doesn’t change when the conversation is difficult.

So this month, we celebrate the culture, history, joy, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities, and we stand firmly with them.

You are part of Houston. You belong here.

Happy Labor Day? Let’s talk about it.

✊Today, we are standing in solidarity with everyone still fighting for fair wages, safe conditions, and the dignity they deserve.

Shoutout to the workers on shift today: Huge respect to the retail, service, hospitality, and gig workers who are working harder than ever today while everyone else gets a break.

The fight isn’t over: We are still battling a system that exploits people and underpays the very hands that build our society.

Rest as resistance: If you do have the day off, please truly rest. In a world that demands constant grind, protecting your peace is a radical act.

Let’s honor the history by continuing the fight for worker justice. 🛠️❤️
