By now, many of you have read about the termination of already-awarded grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and about the potential termination of the Endowment itself.
Nameless Sound has consistently received annual support from the NEA since 2012. $25,000 was awarded to us for 2025, not a dollar of which had yet been received.
These funds are not for concerts, but are specifically earmarked for Creative Music Communities - our daily program that serves over 1600 youth annually with creative music workshops. These workshops use trauma-informed collaborative music sessions towards goals of healing, learning, creativity and play. They serve some of the most marginalized Houstonians: homeless, victims of domestic abuse, refugees, and people with disabilities.
This program is the result of 25 years of research, practice, data-collection, assessment, and training. This program is now at risk.
Will you contribute RIGHT NOW to Nameless Sound to help us make up the gap in this funding? We are setting a fundraising goal of $25,000. All donations to this campaign will go directly to Nameless Sound’s Creative Music Communities.
