Conviventia US We're a Christian nonprofit eradicating the long-standing poverty-mindset in Colombia. How do we attack Colombia's poverty mindset?

We commit long-term to the communities we work with. We help people realize their worth, capabilities & responsibilities in Christ. We empower them with the tools & knowledge they need to leave poverty behind. We ensure safe family environments & relations that promote holistic development and protect children. We provide holistic Christian education from pre-school through high school. We provide vocational & soft-skills training & entrepreneurial development for adults. We ensure our communities are healthy through our nutritional programs & ongoing health brigades. We create community leaders through our leadership training programs to promote SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION. We apply biblical values and principles in all that we do- and that’s why it works.

What do robotics, cookies, big dreams, and a whole lot of generosity have in common? 🤖🍪💛 One unforgettable week at Conviventia!

Our friends from Saint Martha Church in Kingwood, TX, came on mission and have filled the week with learning, serving, and fun experiences.

One of our students from the Lucero Alto, God is Love school, said it best:

“We’ve had lots of fun and learned a lot! They challenged us, encouraged us and showed us we have many possibilities to build a good future.”

Look what our kids did! 💛

Students from our God Is Love schools wanted to help families in Chocó, so each one brought whatever they could to share.

One item here, another there, and soon there was a whole pile of it.

We love seeing them learn that you don’t have to be a grown-up to make a difference.

You simply start with what you have, and give it with love.

Lily went to Chocó to serve as an occupational therapist.

Most days, you could find her helping with optometry or spending time with the children.

Then she met a little girl with cerebral palsy who could not speak.

One child.
One unexpected connection.
And a moment that changed something in Lily, too.

Sometimes, we go to serve…and God uses the people we meet to transform us along the way. 🤍

The early alarms. The hours on the road. The boxes carried by hand, one at a time, because no truck gets closer than this.

Chairs unloaded. Tents raised. Equipment set up before a single patient walks in.

By the time a family sits down with a doctor in Chocó, a dozen people have already done work that nobody photographs.

Our volunteers from Sugar Creek, our Colombian team, the Army, local leaders. All of it, quietly, before the day even begins.

Yesterday the team made it to Cantón de San Pablo, Chocó.

And these pictures say so much.

Children seeing a doctor. Families receiving food and other much-needed support. People getting their eyes checked, receiving dental care, physical therapy… some accessing these services for the first time.

But there was also time to just sit with people. To listen. To hear their stories. To pray together and share the hope we have in Jesus.

It such a blessing to see our amazing friends from Sugar Creek Baptist Church, our Colombian volunteers, the Army and the Conviventia team all working side by side. Different people, one purpose: to serve.

They may only be there for a few days, but we pray people will remember that they were seen, cared for and loved.

And above all, that they are deeply loved by God. 🤍

Golfing for Hope is back!

Looking at these pictures from last year brings back some great memories. Good golf (and maybe some not-so-good golf 😄), wonderful people, plenty of laughter, and a community coming together around a cause we care deeply about.

This year, we’re doing it again!

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support the education of children in Colombia, and we would love to have you be part of it.

Join us for a foursome, come with friends, sponsor a hole, or bring your company along. Whether you were with us last year or this would be your first time, there’s a place for you.
