Yesterday our dear friend met Jesus face to face. Gayle Gilbert began serving with Grace Klein Community in August 2012. She leaves a beautiful enduring legacy.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made in her memory to Grace Klein Community. Please pray for her husband Joel and the entire family in the days ahead.

Thank you, Unbound Grace, for inviting Grace Klein Community to your wonderful banquet!

Natalie, Jackson, and Nicole truly enjoyed meeting your team and learning more about what God is doing through your organization.

Our favorite part was hearing families and individuals share their testimonies of going from being lost to being found by Jesus and how the transformation has shaped their lives.

We also learned, statistically, individuals who go through your program have better outcomes than those in traditional rehabilitation programs. As you all shared, the results are not because of the counselors, group therapy, or the strength of the organization, but God Himself! He is the One who transforms lives and makes all things new.

We are thankful to be a part of what God is doing in our city through our partnership with Unbound Grace.

On Friday, Brandon showed up. ❤️

He spent the entire workday with us at Feed BHM Hoover, jumping in wherever he was needed and helping our team all day long.

The extra special part is what he told us.

Brandon explained how he had been seeing Grace Klein pop up in his social media feed. On Friday morning, he woke up, prayed, and decided, “I’m going.”

So he came.

No big plan. No special reason. He simply saw what we were doing, prayed about whether he should come, obeyed God and showed up.

He stayed ALL DAY. 🙌

Brandon, thank you for listening to God, to know our need for volunteers, and giving your whole day to serve. We are grateful you walked through our doors and hope to see you again soon.

We never know who is watching when you share what God is doing.

Sometimes someone needs to see one more story before they decide to show up too. ❤️

Meet the sweet Ms. Diane. Today was her first day volunteering at Feed BHM Pelham, where she was completely drawn to our GKC Food Rescue Assistant, Kim Robinson. Today, she drove all the way out from Chelsea to donate her time and support her community.

“As a Christian, we have a duty to help others. When you do that, not only do you give the other person a blessing, but you get one yourself. I’m here for other people, but I’m also able to receive blessings as well.”

During the day, Ms. Diane saw some people who needed some uplifting and here’s what she noticed:

“I’ve seen some people come with frowns and every one of them has left with a smile. That’s God’s work. We can’t make other people feel better, that has to come from God,” Ms. Diane said.

We loved hearing another great story from our volunteers!
