“We welcome volunteers from Workshops Empowerment Inc. every week. On Wednesday we had an unexpected and beautiful encounter with Jesus.
As our friend Jeff arrived to unload food, I introduced him to Kenyatta, one of our volunteers, saying, “Man, this dude loves Jesus!”
Within moments, Kenyatta began reciting the entire first chapter of John from memory. Jeff and I were moved to tears.
Kenyatta shared when he was four years old, an accident left the entire left side of his body paralyzed. Yet, despite everything he’s walked through, he still calls Jesus his best friend.
He shared his love for gardening and how it reflects his heart for Jesus: planting seeds of faith and sharing God’s love with everyone he encounters.
Jeff reminded Kenyatta not one moment of his life has been wasted. Every hardship and every victory had brought him to this moment, where his story was blessing others.
What makes this even more powerful is a week earlier, I witnessed Kenyatta worshiping alongside our friend Chris, who shared his testimony of being healed from paralysis.
Rather than comparing their circumstances, Kenyatta celebrated what God had done in Chris’s life.
God’s goodness is not measured by our circumstances, and someone else’s testimony never diminishes our own.
