Giving Kids A Chance to Be Active

09/28/2026

10 donations. 4 months. One incredible partnership. 🤝

Huge shoutout to for their continued support of Iron Kid Ministries. For the past four months, they’ve consistently collected sports equipment from the church community and have donated to us 10 separate times.

That kind of consistency means so much. It’s more than equipment, it’s people choosing to believe in the mission, rallying the community, and helping us get more resources into the hands of kids who can use them.

To everyone at Trinity Outreach Hub and everyone who has donated through them: THANK YOU. 🙏

We’re incredibly grateful for your partnership, your generosity, and your continued belief in what we’re building.

10 times and counting. Let’s keep getting more kids in the game. 🏀🏈⚽️⚾️

Iron Kid Ministries isn’t just about giving equipment. It’s about giving our time, building relationships, and pouring into the lives of the next generation. ➡️

Every Tuesday, I have the opportunity through my Youth Leadership class to mentor a student at Shades Cahaba Elementary. This week, we spent some time throwing the football around and having fun, but moments like this are about so much more than sports.

It’s about showing up. Listening. Encouraging. Building trust. And investing in a young person as a person, not just an athlete.

Sports can open the door, but the relationship is what matters.

We want to get more kids in the game, but we also want to pour into who they become outside of it. 🏈

That’s a huge part of why Iron Kid Ministries means so much to me. Equipment is a tool. People are the mission.

Iron Kid Ministries x YouthServe, Inc.

I had the privilege of speaking to the students at YouthServe Birmingham, and what started as an opportunity to talk about service quickly became something much deeper.

I left feeling like the room was being called to more than simply serving—it was being called to live with purpose. To recognize that our time, talents, relationships, and opportunities can all be used to make an impact.

I’m grateful for the conversations, the new connections, and the opportunity to continue building on the partnership between Iron Kid Ministries and YouthServe Birmingham. 🤝

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your evening. I’m excited for what’s ahead and what we can accomplish together.

Serve with purpose. Live with purpose. Make an impact. 💪

It all started in Storage Unit 41. 🔑

What began as a small space filled with donated sports equipment has grown into something much bigger. A mission powered by a community that believes every child deserves the opportunity to play.

Today marks a new chapter for Iron Kid Ministries as we move into our new office and equipment storage. With organized shelving and dedicated space, we'll be able to sort donations more efficiently, prepare redistributions faster, and get sports equipment into more communities than ever before.

This isn't just about moving into a new space. It's about removing barriers, strengthening community partnerships, and creating more opportunities for kids through sports.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey, from Storage Unit 41 to where we are today. Your generosity continues to move this mission forward.

The shelves are full, the mission is growing, and we're just getting started. 🏈⚽️🏀

🏈 Help us put football gear into the hands of kids who need it most!

Iron Kid Ministries is collecting new and gently used football equipment, our top priority gear as we step into football season. Every helmet, cleat, and football can make a difference.

Donate today and help equip the next generation. 💚🖤

🏈 FOOTBALL SEASON IS ALMOST HERE! 🏈

Iron Kid Ministries is actively collecting new and gently used football equipment to help equip young athletes in under-resourced communities for the upcoming season.

Our top priority need is football helmets that are two years old or newer to ensure they are still within safety expiration guidelines as well as football shoulder pads and cleats.

We are also accepting:
✔️ Footballs
✔️ Practice gear
✔️ Girdles & pads
✔️ Other football equipment

Every donation helps remove barriers and gives kids the opportunity to play, grow, and thrive through sports.

Your gear. Their game. Their future.

Sports opportunities shouldn’t depend on a zip code.

From 2012–2020, Iron Kid Ministries’ Mobile Impact Unit traveled throughout The Greater Birmingham Area carrying sports equipment for free clinics, camps, and outreach events, helping thousands of kids experience the joy of sports.

As Iron Kid Ministries begins this new chapter, so does the Mobile Impact Unit.

Our vision is to transform it into a mobile redistribution hub—bringing donated sports equipment directly to schools, nonprofits, and under-resourced communities. Instead of transporting equipment for clinics, it will transport opportunities for kids who need them most.

This isn’t just about a trailer. It’s about removing barriers, building community partnerships, and making sure every child has the chance to play.

Every donation, every partnership, and every person who believes in this mission brings us one step closer to making this vision a reality.

Thank you for believing in what’s possible. The best is still ahead. 💙

That old glove. Those cleats collecting dust. The basketball sitting in your garage… 🏀⚾🏈

They could be the reason a child gets to play.

Don’t throw it away, donate it. Together, we can put sports equipment back into the hands of kids who need it most.

What piece of sports equipment do you still have at home? Let us know below! ⬇️
