⛵️ lake macatawa was buzzing this weekend!

hope college welcomed 15 college sailing teams to the emma b memorial regatta, with competitors traveling from across the country, including all the way from texas!

our west michigan sailing community showed up in a big way. 💙 macatawa bay yacht club provided eight volunteers to support race operations, while mbja supplied the sailing center and RIBs for race support.

this is what makes our sailing community so special: local clubs, volunteers, and organizations working together to welcome sailors from near and far and support the next generation of the sport.

we’re proud to be part of a community that shows up, pitches in, and keeps lake macatawa a great place to sail. thanks to everyone who helped make this weekend happen! 🌊

chilly temps, busy weekends, and sailors who aren’t slowing down anytime soon. ⛵️🍂

our mbja crew has a big weekend ahead, with sailors hitting the water for two regattas!

teagan hackney, elanor nelson, anna kirkholz, logan luong, levin luong, evan hill, maren lowell, and bryson chrisman are ready to race!

⛵ laser state championship
📍 grand rapids | october 17–18
henrik bauman, olive mccgough, isaac eklov, james tevelde, and sydney giles are gearing up for a weekend of competition.

the forecast might be chilly, but our sailors are bringing the heat. 😉 bundle up, trust your training, and make it a great weekend out there!

what a weekend to be on the water! ⛵️☀️

our mbja sailors spent two days racing at bayview yacht club for the missa keelboat qualifier, sailing in a u20. and for october in michigan? the weather couldn’t have been much better!

we’re so proud of james tevelde, olive mccgough, isaac eklov, and teagan hackney for getting out there, putting in the work, and representing mbja.

there’s something pretty special about seeing our sailors take on new challenges, build their skills, and keep showing up for the sport they love.

way to go, team! 🖤💚

west michigan summers just hit different. 🌊⛵️

lake michigan, endless blue water, sandy beaches, sunset sails, and long days on the lake. we’re pretty lucky to call this place home, and even luckier to get to share it with our mbja crew.

we’re soaking up every chance to sail now while already dreaming about summer 2027.

we’re proud of every sailor who spends their time with us at MBJA. ⛵️💙

the summer campers who show up ready to learn, get a little wet, and have way too much fun.

the scholastic sailors who keep showing up, putting in the work, racing hard, and learning what it means to be part of a team.

and the coaches who give their time, energy, and patience to help the next generation find their confidence on the water.

every sailor has their own story, their own pace, and their own reason for coming back. but together, they’re what makes MBJA feel like home.

we’re lucky to be along for the ride. 🌊

day 2 at the East Great Oaks Qualifier! ⛵️🍂

big congratulations to Olive McGough, Teagan Hackney, and James TeVelde for putting together an incredible weekend at Pontiac Yacht Club. our sailors finished 4th out of 13 teams at the Great Oaks Qualifier!

chilly air, tough racing, and a whole lot of sailing. these three showed up and put in the work. we’re pretty proud of this crew. 👏

the East Great Oaks Qualifier has already given us a pretty amazing weekend: chilly air, sunny skies, full sails, and plenty of good racing.

the layers are on, the sun is shining, and there’s still one more day of sailing to go. let’s make the most of it. 🌊☀️

🏆 the wooden shoe fall regatta is almost here!
this saturday, october 3, we’re bringing the racing action home to macatawa bay! sailors from across the region are heading to mbja for a full day of friendly competition, fast 420s, and some serious fall sailing.

⛵ racing kicks off at 12:30, with awards to follow. come cheer on our sailors as they take on the home waters!
