Translation is not the same as cultural ownership.

Reaching people in their own language matters. But lasting discipleship goes deeper than translating content created somewhere else.

At 3xM International, we believe local believers should be at the heart of the process—creating gospel media in their own language, shaped by their own culture, and walking alongside the people who respond.

Because the goal isn’t simply more views.

It’s disciples who grow in faith, become leaders, and disciple others.

September is a busy month for the Media Mission Academy.

Our teams are traveling to work alongside local ministry partners, helping equip them with practical tools for digital outreach, discipleship, and media ministry.

Different countries. Different cultures. Different languages.

One shared goal: **equip local leaders to reach people where they are.**

And apparently, that starts with a lot of airports. ✈️🌍😃

“We don’t have the same questions.

You have questions in the West, and we have questions in Afghanistan. So how can you give me the answers?”

An Afghan Christian leader said this during a recent conversation about discipleship.

His words capture something at the heart of intracultural discipleship.

We cannot assume that people in another culture are asking the same questions we are. Culture shapes how people understand God, family, honour, community, faith and belonging.

That is why discipleship must begin with listening.

Not simply translating our answers, but understanding the questions people are actually asking.

And equipping local believers to communicate the message of Jesus within their own cultural and relational world.

Because meaningful discipleship begins by understanding their questions.

**Leadership multiplication isn't about creating copies of ourselves.**

It is about equipping local believers with the tools, biblical foundation, and confidence to lead within their own communities.

They understand the language.
They understand the culture.
They understand the questions people are asking.

And when local leaders begin equipping other local leaders, ministry can continue multiplying far beyond the original training.

Sometimes faith begins with difficult questions.

When Amine in Morocco first connected with our local team online, he was argumentative and challenged much of what they shared.

But the team didn’t argue back.

They listened. They were kind and patient. And they took the time to answer his questions about God and faith.

Over time, those online conversations grew into something more personal relationships and face-to-face meetings.

Sometimes discipleship begins simply by being willing to listen, answer, and keep showing up.

Because faith is lived out in real life, through real relationships.

He may have watched in silence.

No one around him knew the questions he was carrying. No one could see the quiet search in his heart. But one message one video, one story, one moment of truth may have been enough to make him pause and wonder if hope could really be for him too.

This is why 3xM International continues to invest in media mission.

Because in places like Afghanistan, a single message can become the first step in a much deeper journey — toward truth, relationship and discipleship.

We may never see every hidden moment. But God does.

And He is still at work, even in the quiet places.

Please pray for those in Afghanistan who are searching, and for the believers and media teams faithfully sharing the hope of Christ.

**When someone reaches out with a question about Jesus, someone needs to be there to answer.**

Digital media can open the door to a conversation. But behind every message is a real person, someone who may be searching, questioning, or taking their first steps toward faith.

In 2025, one of our ministry partners personally followed up with more than
**4,600 Afghan seekers**.

And the need continues to grow.

Partnership helps make those conversations possible by strengthening local teams, training follow-up workers, and helping ensure that people aren't simply reached, but have someone willing to walk with them.

**Reaching people matters. Being there when they respond matters too.**

Six years ago, we trained our first generation of media ministry partners.

Today, those leaders have trained others, who trained others and now a
**fourth generation of leaders is being equipped.**

That is what we love about partnership.

We are not working alone. We are learning, training, sharing, and multiplying together each generation helping prepare the next to reach people in their own communities.

**This is what happens when we work together.**
