Nos dio mucho gusto recibir en LAUP a un grupo de maestros de West Ottawa Public Schools para una visita enfocada en aprender, escuchar y fortalecer nuestras relaciones.

Durante el recorrido, compartimos información sobre los programas y servicios de LAUP, intercambiamos perspectivas y conversamos sobre cómo seguir fortaleciendo nuestra colaboración para apoyar a los estudiantes multilingües y sus familias.

Recetas con Raíces, Salud para la Mente.

Acompáñenos el miércoles 28 de octubre a las 5:30 PM en LAUP para una demostración de cocina y una conversación sobre cómo ciertos ingredientes tradicionales pueden apoyar la función cognitiva y ayudar a reducir el riesgo de demencia.

Recipes with Roots, Health for the Mind.

Join us on Wednesday, October 28 at 5:30 PM at LAUP for a cooking demonstration and a conversation about how certain traditional ingredients can support cognitive function and help reduce the risk of dementia.

The workshop will be led by Ana Ramos from the Alzheimer's Association, and Dr. Irving Vega from Michigan State University's Human Medicine program.

It will be an educational, healthy, and flavorful experience as we celebrate the foods and traditions of our communities.

Food will be provided, and there will also be an opportunity to win a gift card.

Después de compartir cómo nuestro programa de salud mental ha crecido, queremos invitarte a nuestro próximo taller.

Este 20 de octubre, acompáñanos en “No estás solo. Más fuertes juntos”, donde decoraremos piedras con frases y mensajes de esperanza.

Cada piedra será un pequeño recordatorio de que siempre hay alguien a nuestro lado, especialmente durante esta época del año, cuando muchas personas pueden sentirse solas o necesitar un poco de apoyo durante las fiestas.

After sharing how our mental health program has grown, we want to invite you to our next workshop.

Lo que comenzó en marzo como una nueva iniciativa de salud mental ha crecido más de lo que imaginábamos. En estos meses, hemos visto a personas encontrar apoyo, recuperar la confianza, y dar pasos hacia un futuro más saludable.

Hoy, agradecemos a FOX 17 y Giselle Valentin FOX 17 por ayudarnos a compartir esta historia y, sobre todo, las historias de las personas que están en el corazón de este trabajo.

What started in March as a new mental health initiative has grown beyond what we imagined. Over the past few months, we’ve seen people find support, rebuild confidence, and take steps toward a healthier future.

Today, we’re grateful to FOX 17 and Giselle Valentin FOX 17 for helping us share this story and, most importantly, the stories of the people at the heart of this work.

None of this would be possible without our partners, Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area, Herrick District Library and Hope & Wholeness Psychology Center who believed in this initiative and helped make it a reality.
