Quick heads up, friends: our website and email are taking a little more time off than we thought. We're working on getting everything back up and running 🏃🏻‍♀️

In the meantime, everything here at HAAC is carrying on as usual. Classes are on, galleries are open, and art is still happening, no internet required.

Registration is officially OPEN for Youth Arts Club and the first day is only 4 weeks away!! 🎨

Creating is how we learn what our hands and ideas can do. It’s where we try, where we imagine, and it’s where we find confidence and a community. That’s what we’re building here, and we’re so excited to share it with your family.

With our new Youth Arts Club, there’s no more signing up for 4-6 weeks at a time. Now you can buy ONE week at a time. Come when it works for your family, jump right into whatever we’re making that day, or pick back up on last week’s project. No pressure, no catching up. 🙌🏽

Some photos you take for yourself. Some deserve a wall. 🌟

The Holly Palmer FOTOG Regional Photographic Competition is back for its FINAL year, and we want to see what Michigan photographers are capturing right now. Film, cyanotype, digital, something in between - all of it counts! If it started with light, it belongs here.

Open to Michigan ✋ residents 18 and up. Submit up to three pieces by November 2 for a shot at 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, plus two Honorable Mentions. Entry is $25 for one piece, $30 for two, or $35 for three.

This juried show will be on view in our Padnos Gallery November 19 through January 15.

Ever wish you could catch those bad dreams before they reach your kids?

This Saturday, October 3, bring the whole family for Free Family Drop-In Day! Together we'll explore the Anishinaabe tradition of dreamcatchers. They're woven to look like a spider's web and hung beside the bed as a protective charm, so good dreams get through and bad ones stay caught. 🕸️

No registration and no cost! You don't need experience either. Just drop in any time between 11am and 1pm, stay as long as you like, and make something together.

All ages and families are welcome.

Thanksgiving is closer than you think 🦃 (we checked, and yep, it's already on the calendar!)

Picture this: the turkey comes out, everyone gathers around, and it's being served on a platter that you painted. Maybe it's golden leaves, maybe it's a pumpkin patch, maybe it's your kid's very enthusiastic interpretation of a Thanksgiving dinner. Whatever it is, it'll be the best conversation starter at the table!

Join us Thursday, October 1st from 5:30 - 7:30pm to paint a pre-fired ceramic platter just for your holiday spread. No artistic experience needed. We'll have plenty of inspiration images on hand, all materials supplied, and we'll fire your platter so it's ready to pick up about 3 weeks later, just in time for the feast.

Bring the kids along, too! Children are welcome with an accompanying adult (just book a spot for each person attending). It's $35 per person, and honestly, a whole evening of painting together might be the thing you end up being most thankful for this year. 💕
