The Mary Beth Benison Foundation (MBB) is a 501(c)3 non-profit was established in 2016 to honor Worcester, MA native Mary Beth Benison by continuing her legacy of kindness love and compassion. MBB’s primary mission is the by providing financial assistance to ALS patients to help with a various expenses like household or medical bills. Over a 15 year period Mary Beth overcame numerou

s health challenges but in 2014 she was diagnosed with two terminal illnesses, mesothelioma and ALS. Her ability to fight and remain strong through this devastating news was inspiring to many. Mary Beth was a kind and caring person who often expressed how grateful she was to have the support of family and friends. She had tremendous compassion for those around her and would often express the desire to help people who were going through an illness but didn’t have the support system she had.

"Over the years, I've seen my Mom help families with ALS. I know the difference it makes when you see someone get the help they need during a difficult time. I also know how hard it can be to lose someone who supported you while fighting their own battles. With that, I run the 2026 Falmouth 10K Road Race in memory of my aunt Mary Beth, who passed in 2015."

Please send positive vibes and well wishes to each member of Team MB as the run the Falmouth Road Race. 🏃🏽🏃🏻‍♀️💪🏻Thank you Grace, Jameson, Fred, Kaitlin Corso,Toby, Amelia Dietsche Pouliot, Joel Gil, Mark Maggiore, Sam Pearlstein, Caroline Kiley, Karen, Laura Goldstein, Abbey,Tricia Dufault, Matt, and Katherine for working hard to raise money to help people with ALS. Since June I have provided 9 grants to help pALS pay for bathroom and household renovations, out of pocket medical bills and electric bills. You all helped to made this possible. 👏🏻 Thank you for doing this in memory of MB, 💜 she would be proud. Got get ‘em.

"I am running in support of the Mary Beth Benison Foundation because Katie has assisted our family both emotionally and financially throughout our ALS journey (and continues to!). My husband was diagnosed with ALS five years ago, and Katie has been there to help provide financial assistance to ease the burden of caregiving and medical bills. She also supported my children's book about ALS, which I was able to publish this year because of her gracious donation. Katie does incredible work to support local families impacted by this devastating disease, and I am excited to have the opportunity to give back to MBB so she can continue to help families like ours."

"I'm passionate about this campaign because the Mary Beth Benison Foundation brings real, immediate relief to people living with ALS and their families.
