As we close out ALS Awareness Month, I wanted to give a special shout out 📣and huge thank you 🙏 to husband and wife Scott Dorfman and Laura Goldstein.

Scott was diagnosed with ALS in 2021 at 38 years old. He and his friend “Tats” participated in the Boston Marathon and raised over $25,000 and split that between 5 ALS charities, one being MBB! We are so grateful for their effort and support. It means a lot to be included in this awesome fundraiser. ❤️

Congratulations to Scott and his friend 🎉 who ended up coming in at 4th place for duos and completed it in 2 hours, 54 minutes! 💪🏻

A Decade of Love is a special evening celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Mary Beth Benison Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring Mary Beth’s legacy by Spreading the Love and providing meaningful financial support to individuals and families affected by ALS.

May is ALS Awareness Month. 💙 It is also Mary Beth’s Birthday Month, on May 7th should would have turned 65 and May 3rd is the 11 anniversary of her death.
2026 marks the 10th year the Mary Beth Benison Foundation has been providing financial assistance to people with ALS. We have helped hundred’s of people in her memory and continue to do so every day.
Mary Beth’s desire to help others who were less fortunate or who were struggling inspired me to establish MBB. Her deep love for her family and friends, how much she valued everyone, built connections and brought people together will never be forgotten. The strength she showed through everything she faced in life, and the spirituality and grace she maintained along the way, was truly inspiring. A few months ago we shared a post about how we helped Atileana. Recently her family experienced a big loss which has had a tremendous impact. I am sharing a message from Atileana below and if you can help, even in the smallest way it would be greatly appreciated.

I am a young mother of two, living with ALS, a disease that is slowly taking my mobility and independence. While my mother has stepped in as my caregiver, the reality of daily life is still incredibly challenging.

I am doing everything I can to show up for my kids, but right now I need support with basic household bills, essential household goods and working toward a wheelchair accessible vehicle so I can safely get around and maintain some independence.

This isn’t just about convenience, it’s about being able to care for my children and continue living my life with dignity.
