A BIG THANK YOU to the volunteers who came out to the Barker Pounds Trailhead to help us make needed improvements to the Cain Creek Paddler Access Trail! They absolutely rocked it out there while cutting in some new bench, and leveling all the rocks in the lower rock gardens. They were able to lay the ground work for TDEC’s Trail Crew to go in with their trail machine to finish off the bench cutting, and set the stage for more workdays this fall. The trail is in much better condition because of the hard work of our amazing volunteers!!

We were excited to welcome a group of freshman volunteers from to help remove invasive plant species from the Springfield Trail as part of their schoolwide day of service. They put in about four hours of hard work to remove several truckloads of privet, mimosa, honeysuckle, and English Ivy!! Another huge thank you to faculty and Rangers for being fabulous host!

We successfully celebrated Earth Day by supporting 87 volunteers from who came together as a community to remove over 9 cubic yards of trash and more than 27 tires from the headwaters of Friar Branch! We love seeing kids in action and watching them learn that their own two hands can have a big impact on the world when people come together! Celebrate Earth Day Y’all 🌎❤️😎

We’re looking for 15 volunteers to help with the rehabilitation of the Cain Creek paddler access trail on April 19th from 8 am until noon. Tools will be provided but volunteers are encouraged to bring plenty of water, wear closed toed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and bug spray.
