October is here and Weir River Farm is full of barnyard fun! Meet our friendly rabbits, pigs, and all of the animals in the barnyard. We invite your little farmers to experience life in the barnyard up close. Interact with goats, sheep, and other barnyard friends, and participate in age-appropriate activities and adventures on the farm.

It's spooky season at Weir River Farm and we know just how to celebrate! Join us every Saturday in October for Boo in the Barnyard! From 10AM to 12PM, wear your costume to meet Petunia the pig, Betty the sheep, Pepper the goat, and many more barnyard friends! Take part in a festive scavenger hunt, create a seasonal craft, and enjoy a sweet treat. After your visit to the Barnyard, hike the woodland trails surrounding Weir River Farm to explore and experience all the beauty of Weir River Farm in the fall!

Looking for a quieter, sensory-friendly experience? Consider joining us for Sensory-Friendly Boo in the Barnyard on October 31, from 1PM to 2PM. This program offers a dedicated hour with a reduced number of guests and quieter sensory-friendly environment. Any family that would benefit from a limited capacity visit is welcome.

Oh, deer! Look who we saw out on the trails!

These graceful visitors remind us that the farm is home to so much more than our barnyard animals. Whether you're strolling the trails or pausing to take in the scenery, you never know what wildlife you might encounter. Nature has a way of surprising us when we slow down and look closely.

Weir River Farm is looking for dedicated individuals to join our volunteer team!

Volunteer roles include:
🎒 Education Volunteers: Help lead field trips at Weir River Farm and World’s End.
🐷 Livestock Volunteers: Help care for our friendly goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, and chickens!
🍁 Boo in the Barnyard Volunteers, every Saturday in October: Help us greet visitors, assist with kids’ crafts and activities, give out prizes, and more!

Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day.

The places in our care across Massachusetts have been home to Indigenous peoples and communities for thousands of years, and they remain home today. These lands carry histories that deserve respect and reflection, not just today, but every day.

At The Trustees, we remain committed to listening, learning, and building respectful relationships with Indigenous communities as we care for these cultural landscapes. We're grateful to the Indigenous educators, artists, and knowledge keepers who share their stories with us and help shape how we tell the stories of these places.
