In 1978, Sherry Lambert spent her summers at SSC playing tuba, studying with Frank Battisti and staying late to practice before riding her bike home to Norwell.
48 years later, she returned to SSC as a guest artist with the Firebird Pops Orchestra for our first premier concert of the season, Hollywood in Hingham!
Since her days in SSC's Summer Wind Ensemble (now Summer Music Festival), Sherry has built an incredible career performing with orchestras and ensembles throughout New England. She's also still making music with friends she met at SSC nearly five decades ago.
One of her favorite memories? Winning SSC's Concerto Competition and performing the Vaughan Williams Tuba Concerto with Frank Battisti conducting, an experience she still considers a career highlight.
We loved welcoming Sherry back to SSC and hearing about the people and experiences that have stayed with her all these years.
Once an SSC student, always part of the SSC community. 💙
