We have lost a legend in our veterans community. Diane was the most charismatic person I've ever met, just an amazing powerhouse, one of the best public speakers I’ve ever heard as well. She will certainly be missed. She was a good friend. Dutch DeGroot

Diane Evans, May 22, 2026Sharing the news of Diane's passingDear friends, family, loved ones near and far,This is Diane's daughter, Carrie, writing on behalf of our family. Our incredible mom -- also wife, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend to so many -- passed away peacefully this week. She was home, with family holding her hands and surrounded by love.We are so grateful for the tremendous outpouring of care and compassion by her wide circle of loved ones and connections across the country, and close to home. Thank you for all of the thoughts, messages, cards and support during her cancer journey. She was so exceptionally grateful and touched by the outpouring of care and love. It meant a great deal to her and sustained her through these recent years. You may find her obituary at this link. Our family has shared that, in lieu of flowers, thank a veteran for their service, invite them to share their story, if they wish; or consider donating to an organization serving veterans in your community.A Celebration of Life will be planned this fall in Helena, Montana. With love and appreciation to you all,Carrie and our whole family
