Since 2014, we have led an effort to empower, inspire, and equip artists to champion social change.
Currently, we have contracted with Community Youth Development Institute in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood to run a STEAM program in Aquaponics/ Urban Agriculture since July 2017.
Summer 2017, Firebrand artists: Rasaan Khalil, Desi Baker, and Eric the Sage performed in Elmhurst’s YESfest
We taught workshops in summer camps at the Maywood Park District, and Quinn Center in spoken word and visual arts.
In July 2017, We launched our apparel line.
In February 2017, we produced and sponsored the Black History Month program for the Village of Maywood.
In March 2017, We launched our video podcast!
In November 2016, we held our first quarterly Artist's Meet and Greet.
In October 2016, our hip-hop artists performed at Operation Uplift's West Town Museum.
In September 2016, FAN rolled out its new series of programming, in partnership with the Quinn Center in Maywood, IL. Programming includes creative writing, sewing, vocal coaching, visual arts, and spoken arts/ hip-hop.
In the Winter of 2015, Firebrand launched a theater and spoken word workshop at Spencer Elementary dedicated to raising literacy rates.
