CACI MINNESOTA MAGIC

Just two points

1) RATHER SERIOUS
As you all know, the COVED 19 vaccine is about ready to be released to the public. I myself am scheduled for Thursday 1-21, and do plan to get the shot. I am one of those “youngsters.” I know that if I refuse, I will be murdered by my family. Your convention chairs are urging all CACer to very seriously consider getting the shot when your time has been assigned. Each one must follow the guidelines of the states within one resides. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT EITHER OF US, seeking how to get the vaccine appointment. Your individual states should be providing its members the directions. We hope that getting the vaccine would make CACers more positive about the convention.
2) VERY POSITIVE NEWS
The Hilton Hotels has rewritten its policy regarding the guest rooms at ALL of their hotels. This includes the Double Tree in Bloomington, our convention hotel. More will be coming out shortly and you will be as happy as we were when we were told about it. -- 00 --

Both of these points, I suspect, will be discussed at the CAC officers meeting , scheduled for 1-30.
In the meantime, BE VERY CAREFUL AND PRAY FOR EACH OTHER.

MINNESOTA MAGIC UPDATE

As we all know, the annual CACI convention for 2020 was canceled due to the pandemic. The next convention/vacation is scheduled for June 20-26, 2021, in Bloomington Minnesota. Your convention coordinators have been in contact via telephone conference call with a representative of the Double Tree Hotel, located in the city of Bloomington. According to Arik, the representative, the city of Bloomington is about 12 miles from the city center of Minneapolis. The Mall of America is also in Bloomington. According to Arik, the city of Bloomington has received very little impact of negativity from Minneapolis. He indicated that the city of Bloomington has been very safe. That is great!

Regarding social distancing, the hotel is working with the State of Minnesota, CDC guidelines, and Hilton Management to protect all of its guests from the pandemic. Currently, the hotel is allowed to have only 250 guests per meeting room. Since our convention is in June, 2021, we all hope that the pandemic becomes very manageable, and does not affect the convention too much. Arik mentioned one thing that is being done at the present time: the housekeeping department , once a room has been vacated, is thoroughly cleaning that room, putting a sticker on it to indicate that the room has been so cleaned. The next time that any housekeeping individual would enter said room would be when it becomes vacant. This means, guys, that we would make our own beds. ( Just like home). Nothing has been said about towels yet, but we will work on that. Remember, our convention is 8 months away.

Janet and I are still working with the hotel regarding food prices, etc. When these become finalized, we will then work on a budget.

Regarding tours, contact has been made with the tour company. There will be some changes in the tours which were originally established. These are minor changes. The tour company still promises to have the same quality of tours which were originally proposed.

A few things that we all can do at the present time: PRAY, that this pandemic comes under control soon. Too many individuals have died or have lost their jobs. As MADAM President would say “ Y’all stay safe” More to come!

Jim originally came from St Leonard Church which is one of the area churches the CAC meets for Sunday mass and brunch. Whole mass not cut to short 30minute TV format of Holy Name Cathedral.

Prayer for People Infected with COVID-19
or Facing Quarantine
Jesus, during Your ministry on Earth You showed Your
power and caring by healing people of all ages and
stations of life from physical, mental, and spiritual
ailments. Be present now to people who need Your loving
touch because of COVID-19. May they feel Your power of
healing through the care of doctors and nurses.
Take away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from
people receiving treatment or under quarantine. Give
them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and
protecting others from exposure to the disease. Protect
their families and friends and bring peace to all who love
them. Amen.
