CAIR-Ohio was founded in 1998 in Columbus, Ohio. Cleveland and Cincinnati offices were added in 2003 & 2004 respectively. Our vision is to be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding. Families, students, and community leaders fill the room, and we are reminded that we are stronger together.

Real change does not happen in isolation. It happens when we connect and build our collective power.

Our Haitian neighbors should never have to walk alone.

This past week in Cincinnati, community members gathered outside the ICE field office in Blue Ash to stand with Haitian immigrants summoned to check-in meetings following the end of Temporary Protected Status. Clergy, advocates, and neighbors lined the road. A reminder that solidarity shows up in person, not just in statements.

CAIR-Ohio stands with our Haitian community. We will not look away, and we will not stay silent.

This Friday, CAIR-Ohio Executive Director Khalid Turaani will deliver all three khutbahs at Noor Islamic Center, reflecting on what it truly means to live out our faith in moments that demand more than silence.

This morning, we joined Ignite Peace and 600 members of clergy and the local community to rally behind and support members of the local Hatian community. After the abrupt termination of their TPS status, tens of thousands of Hatian immigrants in Ohio were immediately stripped of their right to work and live in the United States. After learning that they began receiving letters-- summoning them to check-in with ICE, the community turned out in accompaniment and support.
Members of our own community are no strangers to being targeted and detained. It is essential to show up for one another. It is crucial to let us know if this happens to you. Do not stay silent. We are stronger together.
